The Watch

Watchmaker Earnshaw presents the ES-8006-05 from its Longitude collection. Inspired by seafaring navigators, this watch pays tribute to Thomas Earnshaw, known as the "father of the modern chronometer." His chronometers helped sailors navigate the world's oceans, and his work earned recognition from the Board of Longitude in 1805. The watch has a round, gold-tone case measuring 44 mm in diameter and 14 mm thick, proportions well suited to a man's wrist. Mineral crystal helps protect the dial from impacts and scratches. A crown at 3 o'clock lets you set the hands. Finally, its 5-atmosphere water resistance is supported by a transparent screw-down case back that offers a view of the rotor in action.

The Dial

The standout feature of this watch is its skeletonized dial, which lets you admire the automatic movement. Round and midnight blue, it brings an elegant touch to your wrist. Two gold-tone hands at the center display the hours and minutes, while Roman numeral markers circle the dial. There are also three subdials: a display for a second time zone at 9 o'clock, a sun indicator at 6 o'clock and a moon-phase display at 12 o'clock. These indicators are useful when navigating at sea, and the brand includes them as a tribute to the watch's inspiration. A gold-tone bezel adds to its timeless elegance. Earnshaw's signature appears at 3 o'clock.

The Movement

An automatic movement drives the hour and minute hands and the dial's many subdials with precision and reliability. The skeletonized design and transparent case back also let you admire the striking rotor.

The Bracelet

The dial is paired with a black leather strap featuring a crocodile-pattern finish for a modern touch. Matching stitching adds texture and elegance. A silver-tone pin buckle engraved with the brand name lets you adjust the fit. The lug width is 22 mm for a comfortable fit.

Water Resistance

Water-resistant to 50 meters, or 5 ATM in watchmaking terms, this timepiece can handle some water but not prolonged exposure. You can occasionally wear it in the shower, but to preserve the movement's quality and precision, our watch specialists strongly recommend keeping it out of the bath, pool and ocean. In short, avoid swimming, scuba diving and prolonged contact with or immersion in water.
