British watchmaker Thomas Earnshaw expands his Longitude collection with this new model. The collection draws inspiration from the navigators of the past who sailed the seas without the marine technology we have today. Dubbed the "father of the modern chronometer," Thomas Earnshaw was awarded by the Board of Longitude in 1805 for his navigation chronometers. This timepiece features a round case in stainless steel with a 44mm diameter and 14mm thickness. A perfect fit for men. To set the hands, a crown sits at the traditional 3 o'clock position. The dial is shielded from scratches and wear by a robust mineral crystal. Finally, this navigator's watch is water-resistant thanks to its screwed and transparent case back, ensuring water resistance up to 50 meters.
Round in shape and silver in tone, the dial is framed by a stunning rose gold bezel. It also features a skeleton finish that lets you admire the inner workings of this exceptional timepiece. At the center of the dial, the hands display the hours and minutes. Hour markers are rendered in Roman numerals around the dial's edge, lending the watch an unmistakably vintage feel. Three subdials are integrated into the skeleton dial. At 9 o'clock sits a 12-hour counter indicating a second time zone. At 6 o'clock, a sun indicator. At 12 o'clock, a moon phase display. Three essential tools for navigating the seas, chosen by the father of the modern chronometer. The watchmaker's signature appears at 3 o'clock.
Powering this timepiece with fluid precision is an automatic movement. Admire it freely through the skeleton finish on the front and the transparent case back on the reverse.
In the spirit of elegance and maritime adventure, this model is paired with a handsome brown genuine leather strap accented with crocodile-finish detailing. A silver pin buckle makes it easy to fasten to your wrist size. For optimal comfort and fit, the lug width measures 20mm.
With a water resistance rating of 50 meters - 5 ATM in watchmaking terms - this timepiece can handle the occasional splash but is not designed for prolonged water exposure. A quick shower now and then won't hurt, but to preserve the quality and accuracy of the movement, our watch specialists strongly advise keeping it away from baths, pools, and the sea. In short: no swimming, no diving, and no extended contact or immersion.
