British watchmaker Thomas Earnshaw expands its Longitude collection with this elegant timepiece. Dubbed the "father of the modern chronometer," the legendary Thomas Earnshaw was awarded by the Board of Longitude in 1805 for his navigation chronometers. This collection draws its inspiration from the great mariners who once sailed the open seas. The ES-8006-02 features a round stainless steel case coated in yellow gold PVD, measuring 44 millimeters in diameter and 14 millimeters thick - proportions perfectly suited to men's wrists. A crown at 3 o'clock keeps you in command of the time. The dial is shielded from scratches and wear by a solid mineral crystal. And true to its seafaring spirit, this navigator's watch is water-resistant to 50 meters, thanks to its screw-down transparent case back.
The round white dial sets this marine watch apart from the rest. Its skeleton finish lets you watch the automatic movement in action, bringing the hands to life. The central hands display the hours and minutes, while Roman numeral hour indexes ring the dial - lending a vintage character that's entirely its own. Two sub-counters complete the dial: one at 9 o'clock showing a second time zone, and one at 12 o'clock featuring a moon phase display. The father of the modern chronometer chose these three essential indicators for navigating at sea - because knowing the moon, the sun, and two time zones is how you never lose your way. Finally, Thomas Earnshaw signs this creation at 3 o'clock.
The inner workings of this horological jewelry piece can be admired through its transparent case back and skeleton finish. Hours, minutes, and sub-counters are brought to life by a smooth and precise automatic movement - reliable down to the last second.
Elegant and high-performing, this model also stands out with its handsome brown genuine leather strap featuring a crocodile finish. A gold-tone pin buckle makes it easy to adjust and secure to your wrist. Note that the lug width measures 22 millimeters.
This model offers a water resistance of 5 atmospheres, or 50 m. Designed to be as beautiful as it is resilient, it can hold its own against the elements without losing any of its refinement. You can keep it on in the shower - though the Ocarat team recommends leaving it safely on the edge of the sink to preserve its brilliance and integrity over time. As for swimming and diving, we strongly advise against wearing this watch in the water to avoid damage and costly repairs.
