The Watch

French brand Humbert-Droz, founded in 1965, crafts meticulous timepieces that honor the art of watchmaking. Its designs blend style and functionality seamlessly. The manufacture produces limited-edition models, including the HD1 "Cuivre". This is a stunning watch with a curved cushion-shaped case that gives it real character with a classic appeal. It measures 43 mm in diameter with a 13.5 mm thickness - a fairly substantial size. However, thanks to its short lugs, the proportions remain balanced, even on a more modest wrist. The 316L stainless steel case combines polished flanks with a brushed bezel. The latter features a black PVD treatment and is secured by 4 silver screws. The screw-down crown handles function adjustments and is fully covered by a guard that opens upward. The dial is protected by a mineral crystal, while the caseback is sealed by a screw-down cover. This reveals the movement and oscillating weight through a transparent window. This case offers a water resistance of 10 bar.

The Dial

The dial on this model is beautifully finished with a two-tone sunray effect. A smoky blue base hosts a black chapter ring with numerals at 10-second intervals and an orange quarter-circle accent. This is followed by a zone featuring a tachymeter scale and baton indices. Hours 3, 6, and 9 are represented by Arabic numerals, all rendered in silver. A large aperture at 12 o'clock lets you admire the beating heart of the movement. Hour and minute hands are sleek sword-shaped hands in satin steel with a Luminova insert, while the seconds are tracked by an orange seconds hand with an arrowhead tip. Finally, the brand name appears in white just above 6 o'clock.

The Movement

A Swiss automatic movement powers this model. The ETA 2824 caliber promises precise tracking of hours, minutes, and seconds.

The Strap

This HD watch is paired with a strap crafted from Cordura fabric in an elegant navy blue. Orange stitching adds a subtle, charming detail. It measures 24 mm in width and fastens with a pin buckle in steel to match the case. Note that this model comes with a removal tool in case you'd like to switch up the look.

Water Resistance

With a water resistance of 100 meters - or 10 ATM in watchmaking terms - this bold timepiece is equally at home at a black-tie gala and in the water! Feel free to keep it on in the shower, bath, or during swimming sessions (even vigorous ones!). That said, our team of watchmaking experts wants to be clear: this model is not intended for scuba diving, freediving, or use with high-pressure washers.
