Humbert-Droz is a French watchmaking brand that has stood out for over 65 years through its exceptional expertise rooted in tradition and craftsmanship. A symbol of perfection, precision, and authenticity, it offers watch enthusiasts a broad selection of sophisticated, modern timepieces defined by superior quality, technical performance, and refined finishing. Today, the brand presents to all lovers of watchmaking and history a new collection called HD11 - featuring timepieces as elegant and reliable as each other, each paying tribute to a month of the Republican Calendar. It introduces here its "Frimaire" watch, a pure blend of refinement, performance, and poetry that will undoubtedly claim its place on the wrists of charismatic men. Evoking the month of frost - the third month of the Revolutionary Calendar - it will win you over from the very first glance, becoming that indispensable everyday companion you'll never tire of wearing, admiring, and showing off. Its all-grey-and-black aesthetic pairs effortlessly with both sharp and casual looks. Manufactured in France and assembled at Humbert-Droz's workshops in Besançon, this timepiece is paired with a cushion-shaped case that sits gently and precisely on your wrist for all-day comfort. Designed for men, it is crafted from 316L stainless steel with a black PVD treatment, polishing, and brushing. In terms of dimensions, it measures 44 mm wide and 13.50 mm thick. It is topped by a bezel secured by four visible hex screws encircling a domed sapphire crystal, which protects the dial from unsightly scratches and the knocks of everyday life. A black carbon crown is protected and screwed down at 3 o'clock, used for setting the hours, minutes, and date. The movement's inner workings can be admired through the transparent display on the case back, which is screw-down to ensure water resistance of 10 ATM.
The case of this timepiece reveals a stunning silver dial that enhances the watch's charm with a refined and timeless touch. Round in shape, it features a sunray background with brushed lines that will leave you captivated. It is swept by two baton hands and a slim arrow-tipped seconds hand, all fitted with a Luminova coating. In black, they deliver precise timekeeping in all conditions - including complete darkness. They point to a minute railroad track on the black outer ring, graduated with small dots and lines, complemented by Arabic numeral and baton markers for crystal-clear readability. It surrounds twelve indexes in black for quick hour identification - Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, and batons for the remaining hours. A white-background date window sits at 3 o'clock, displaying black Arabic numerals for easy date reading. Finally, this watch is signed with the brand name below 12 o'clock, while the movement type is noted at the opposite end.
This watch is powered by a Franco-Swiss automatic movement that drives the hands and date display with exceptional fluidity. Renowned for its quality and performance, this mechanism is equipped with 24 jewels and beats at 28,800 vph (4 Hz). Engineered by La Joux-Perret and assembled in Humbert-Droz workshops, it is specifically the caliber G100. It delivers precise and reliable indication of hours, minutes, seconds, and date, with a power reserve of 68 hours.
A bovine leather strap completes this timepiece, deepening its timeless elegance with a modern, refined touch. It features a rich black tone with a carbon-pattern design and tone-on-tone stitching for a striking wrist presence. Versatile enough to pair with both sharp and casual looks, it brings that quiet sophistication that elevates every outfit. Comfortable to wear all day long, it fastens and releases smoothly and securely thanks to its deployment buckle crafted in 316L stainless steel.
With water resistance of 100 meters - or 10 ATM in watchmaking terms - this boldly styled timepiece performs just as well at a black-tie gala as it does in the water. Feel free to keep it on in the shower, the bath, or even during an energetic swim session. That said, our team of watch experts wants to be clear: this model is not designed for scuba diving, freediving, or use with high-pressure washers. Remember - showers, baths, and swimming only, and never operate the pushers or crown while submerged.
