A bit of history: in 1942, Ilvo Fontana, a precision engineering craftsman, received a prestigious commission from the Italian Navy to design and manufacture a new watch model for its crew. A formidable challenge - one that demanded compliance with the Navy's exacting quality standards and very precise technical specifications, while guaranteeing maximum visibility and reliability. The circumstances of the time, however, prevented the project from coming to fruition. In 2000, Italo Fontana, Ilvo's grandson, picked up where his grandfather left off. These treasured creations became his source of inspiration for the design of the first U-Boat watch. Blending classicism with modernity, Italo preserved the authenticity of his grandfather's original vision.
