Nivada Grenchen is a Swiss watch brand with a watchmaking heritage dating back to 1879. Like all great Swiss brands, it is renowned for the quality of its timepieces and the artisanal expertise behind each one. Every creation reflects meticulous attention to detail and rigorous quality control. Nivada Grenchen watches stand out for their timeless yet functional design, spanning both dive watches and more formal styles. The brand embodies the perfect balance between quality and enduring appeal, earning it a dedicated following among enthusiasts worldwide. From the Chronosport collection comes this captivating watch - a 1970s jewelry piece reimagined for the modern gentleman. Its vintage character makes it equally at home with dressed-up or classic everyday looks. The model features a silver-tone case with brushed and polished finishes that amplify its charm. It measures 38 mm in diameter, 12.70 mm in thickness, and 44.30 mm lug-to-lug. These proportions make it an ideal fit for men's wrists. The case is crafted in 316L stainless steel and features a unidirectional black bezel graduated from 0 to 60, with a SuperLuminova marker that glows in the dark. This timepiece is perfectly suited for diving enthusiasts, offering water resistance to 20 ATM thanks to its screw-down case back. The case is topped with a domed sapphire crystal for optimal protection against scratches and impacts. At 2, 3, and 4 o'clock, a engraved crown and two pushers enable smooth adjustment of all functions.
The dial features a black finish that enhances elegance and ensures easy readability. Its matte surface is textured for a refined design touch. The dial edge is framed by a tachymeter scale and a minute track, followed by white indices with beige dots marking the hours. Both the indices and the two hands are coated with SuperLuminova for excellent legibility in low-light conditions. The hands indicate hours and minutes, while the slim chronograph seconds hand tracks the seconds. At 3 o'clock, a date window is displayed, while at 9 and 12 o'clock, two sub-dials indicate the small seconds and 30-minute counter respectively. Finally, the brand name is printed below the 12 o'clock sub-dial.
This timepiece runs on a Swiss-made automatic movement - specifically the ETA Valjoux 7750 caliber, which drives the hands, date window, and counters. Featuring 25 jewels, it delivers a 48-hour power reserve and beats at 28,800 vph.
This watch comes with three strap options selectable via the drop-down menu. Choose the one that suits your style best.
The first is a black perforated bovine leather strap that delivers a vintage aesthetic. Crafted with care and precision, it features contrast stitching in the same tone and closes easily with a pin buckle.
The second option is a black rubber strap that leans into the watch's sporty character. Its flexibility ensures all-day comfort and a secure fit, thanks to a classic pin buckle.
The third strap, in a silver-tone finish, is crafted from 316L stainless steel and will elevate your look with any outfit. This flat link bracelet combines brushed and polished finishes for a distinctive touch, and fastens securely with a deployment clasp.
Note that the lug width is 20mm.
This model offers water resistance to 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a watch built for serious aquatic adventures at depth. Designed for freediving, it handles everything from high-pressure hoses to showers, baths, swimming, and breath-hold dives without breaking a sweat. For scuba diving with tanks, however, we recommend a timepiece with a higher water resistance rating. Also, avoid operating the crown while submerged to protect the movement's integrity.
