The Squale story begins in 1950, when the Von Büren couple founded watchmaking house Von Büren SA in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The Squale watch trademark was registered in 1959, and that same year the brand secured a patent for the production of dive watch cases. From day one, Squale has been a Swiss watch - and more specifically, a dive watch. The brand gained worldwide recognition in 1967 when Italian freediver Enzo Maiorca wore one to set a world depth record at 67 meters. Squale is, and has always been, a brand built for adventure and pushing limits.
