Founded in 1961 in Frankfurt am Main by Helmut Sinn - a World War II pilot turned flight instructor - Sinn specialized from the very beginning in the manufacture of navigation wall clocks and aviation chronographs.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Sinn made headlines by sending its watches into space on the wrists of German astronauts, proving that its automatic movement performs flawlessly in zero gravity.
In 1994, the company was acquired by engineer Lothar Schmidt, who set the brand on a course of technological innovation. Sinn went on to develop numerous patents, including the "Ar" dehumidification technology, Hydro technology, and the Diapal and Tegiment technologies.

Today, Sinn's diverse range of proprietary technologies enables the brand to craft timepieces that are increasingly technical, rugged, feature-rich, and built for everyday wear.
