Sinn is a German watch brand founded in 1961 by a former pilot. It crafts robust timepieces with vintage military-inspired dials. Today, the manufacturer is recognized as a leading name in watchmaking, with a constantly growing catalog. That DNA lives on in one of its most popular watches, the 556 I RS, through which Sinn successfully preserves its military-influenced character while delivering a beautiful, refined, and elegant aesthetic. This model stands out for its clean, classic design that remains thoroughly modern. Its centerpiece, the case, is crafted in stainless steel with a satin finish. It measures 38.5 mm in diameter and 11 mm in thickness. Round in shape, its surface is covered by a doubly anti-reflective sapphire crystal that offers maximum scratch protection and optimal dial clarity. On the right side, a screw-down notched crown marked with the S logo gives the watch its sporty edge. As for the case back, it features a transparent sapphire crystal exhibition window that reveals the movement. Screw-down, it ensures a water resistance of 20 ATM.
The dial on this model offers exceptionally clear timekeeping. It features a glossy black base and white hour markers coated with a luminescent treatment for easy reading in low-light conditions. A minute track marked with white lines runs along the perimeter, complemented by baton indices indicating the hours. These are tracked by two sword hands and a red seconds hand that adds a bold splash of color to the dial. For added precision, a black-background date window sits at 3 o'clock. The Sinn logo is positioned just below 12 o'clock, while the word "Automatik" appears above 6 o'clock.
This watch is powered by a Swiss-made automatic movement. More specifically, the Sellita SW200-1 caliber, beating at 28,800 vph with 26 jewels, brings the central elements to life. With a precision of +/- 12 seconds per day, it delivers a power reserve of 38 hours and features a stop-seconds function.
The bracelet on this model provides the perfect finishing touch. Crafted in stainless steel, it features a succession of H-shaped links connected by chamfered edges, all finished with a satin treatment that mirrors the case. The bracelet measures 20 mm in lug width and fastens with a deployment clasp for a secure fit.
This model offers a water resistance of 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a watch built to go deep with you! Designed for freediving, it handles serious submersion without breaking a sweat. Water-resistant enough to use alongside high-pressure washers, it's equally at home in the shower, the bath, the pool, or on a freedive. For scuba diving, however, we recommend a timepiece with a higher water resistance rating. As always, avoid operating the crown or pushers during submersion to protect the movement's integrity.
