Founded in 1956, Humbert-Droz quickly established itself as a respected name in watchmaking. Its timepieces combine multiple complications with a distinctly French tradition and craftsmanship. The brand introduces this new HD7 model equipped with a pulsometer for measuring heart rate. The watch is housed in a cushion case crafted from 316L stainless steel measuring 47 mm in diameter and 15.3 mm thick. Finished with a black PVD treatment and a brushed surface, it exudes a sophisticated look accentuated by visible screws. On the right side of the case, two pushers and a beveled black crown handle all function adjustments. The dial is protected by a mineral crystal, while the screwed steel caseback reveals the movement through a transparent central opening - and guarantees water resistance to 5 ATM.
Refined and well-organized, the dial of this HD7 features a modern, technical layout. Its black carbon-effect background is framed by a bezel in black and orange with a pulsometer scale graduated to 30 beats. The grey baton hands in polished steel and the orange seconds hand point to the baton hour markers and a finely graduated minute railway track. To ensure legibility even in low-light conditions, the hour and minute hands as well as the baton markers feature a luminescent treatment. Three sub-dials with orange arrows indicate the chronograph functions: 30 minutes at 3 o'clock, 12 hours at 6 o'clock, and small seconds at 9 o'clock. A date window sits between 4 and 5 o'clock. The brand's signature appears just below 12 o'clock.
This Humbert-Droz watch is powered by a Swiss-made ETA 7753 automatic movement. Featuring 27 jewels and beating at 28,800 bph, it drives the analog display, date, chronograph, and pulsometer functions. It delivers a power reserve of 48 hours.
This model features a striking black strap crafted from calfskin leather and finished with orange stitching for an extra touch of character. Measuring 24 mm in width, it fastens with a deployant clasp in steel. Note that the watch comes with a strap-changing tool so you can swap it out in no time.
With a water resistance of 5 atmospheres, equivalent to 50 meters, this watch offers a solid first step into water-resistant timekeeping. While it's not designed for swimming or diving, you can safely forget to take it off in the shower. That said, our experts recommend keeping this timepiece dry whenever possible to preserve its mechanism for years to come.
