The Watch

The German watch brand Laco presents a minimalist, robust model with a subtle retro influence. With its round case measuring 42 mm in diameter, this watch is particularly well-suited to wider wrists (typically men's). Crafted in stainless steel in its natural grey finish, the watch features a beautiful brushed finish. The slim, fixed steel bezel draws all attention to the luminescent black dial. The three hands are set via a large knurled crown at 3 o'clock, easy to grip and operate. The case back is transparent, revealing the automatic movement with its oscillating rotor - a delight for enthusiasts. Both the case back glass and the dial crystal are sapphire crystals. The dial crystal features an anti-reflective coating for optimal legibility.

The Dial

Protected by a flat sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, this double-circle dial in black semi-gloss offers an analog display of hours, minutes, and seconds. The hands, indexes, minute track, and Arabic numerals all feature SuperLuminova C3 luminescent treatment. The hour and minute hands are Sword-shaped, while the seconds hand features a luminescent wire design along its full length with a black counterweight. The outer ring of the dial displays a wide minute track dotted with baton hour indexes, with Arabic numerals indicating the minute markers for each hour. The 12 o'clock index is a broad arrow. The inner circle of the dial displays Arabic numerals for the hours.

The Movement

The Pilot Basic is powered by a Japanese automatic movement, Miyota caliber 821A. It offers a 42-hour power reserve and beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour, displaying hours, minutes, and seconds.

The Strap

An oyster-style bracelet with three brushed stainless steel links graces the case of this watch, reinforcing its vintage, authentic, and robust character. The lug width is 20 mm and the model fastens with a deployment clasp.

Water Resistance

With a water resistance of 5 atmospheres, equivalent to 50 meters, this watch offers a solid entry point into water resistance. While not designed for bathing, competitive swimming, or diving, you can safely forget to take it off in the shower. That said, our experts recommend keeping this timepiece dry whenever possible to preserve its mechanism for years to come.
