Founded in 1948, Yema is a French watchmaking company that has proven its worth on the market through finely crafted creations. It designs watches specifically for diving, motorsport, space exploration, and sailing. The brand leverages modern technology to stay at the cutting edge of watch design. Its timepieces stand out for their highly precise in-house calibers with enhanced performance and superbly finished designs. The Superman is one of the brand's iconic models. Launched by Yema in 1963, it is a quintessential diver's watch that has been revisited today with a new caliber designed entirely in the brand's workshops in Morteau. Named the Superman Bronze CMM.10 Blue 11.13.35, this watch is offered as a limited edition of 1,948 pieces and was launched during an oceanographic mission aimed at tracking a family of 30 sperm whales in the Indian Ocean over several years. This watch was designed in collaboration with François Sarano, a French oceanographer and founder of the marine conservation association Longitude 181. It has a retro style and is built to be worn both underwater and on land. Its case is available in two sizes - 39 mm and 41 mm - and is tailored for men's wrists. The first features a thickness of 10.70 mm and a lug-to-lug length of 48 mm with a dial opening of 27 mm. The second size also has a thickness of 10.70 mm, but a lug-to-lug length of 49.50 mm and a dial opening of 30 mm. This round case is crafted entirely in bronze and will look stunning on your wrist. It retains the model's classic design elements and features pointed, elongated lugs. It houses a matching bezel with carefully crafted notching and a brushed and sunray-finished surface that reinforces its charming look. Unidirectional, it features a 0-60 graduation and a luminescent ball marker at 12 o'clock treated with Super-LumiNova Grade A. One of the hallmarks of this version is the bezel lock, located at 3 o'clock, right where the crown sits. Screwed-down and knurled, it sets the hours and minutes and is protected by the case lug extensions. The dial is protected by a double-dome sapphire crystal 2.20 mm in height that ensures better legibility, enhanced durability, and a resolutely vintage feel. Finally, the screwed case back features a transparent sapphire crystal window for a view of the movement. This case back provides 30 ATM water resistance and bears a unique serial number along with a number corresponding to the limited edition.
The standout feature of this watch is its lacquered dial - a fusion of tradition and modernity. It pays tribute to watchmaking heritage while incorporating contemporary elements, resulting in a truly timeless piece. It displays a gradient effect with varying shades of blue depending on the light, from lighter tones at the center to deeper hues at the edges. The minute track running along its perimeter adds a neo-retro touch. The dial features round, triangular, and baton indexes marking the hours. In a golden tone, they are in perfect harmony with the color of the central hands. The hour hand is a pointed baton while the minute hand features an arrow tip. The seconds hand has a lollipop design for added distinction. All these reading elements are filled with Super-LumiNova Grade A, ensuring excellent legibility in dark environments and ocean depths. Completing the dial's aesthetic, the brand name and its logo "Yema" appear at 12 o'clock alongside the collection name "Superman", while at 6 o'clock you'll find "300 Meters" and "Automatic". The inscription "Manufacture Française" appears at the bottom of the dial, a reminder that this is a watch made in France.
This watch is powered by a modern automatic movement built for reliability and stability - more precisely, the in-house CMM.10 caliber, which delivers an impressive power reserve of 70 hours. The watch can be wound manually via the crown or automatically through wrist motion. This caliber beats at a frequency of 4 Hz, or 28,800 vibrations per hour, features 27 jewels, and runs at a deviation of -3/+5 seconds per day, all with excellent magnetic field resistance and shock resistance.
The blue micro-perforated rubber strap on this watch is a striking addition to your wrist and enhances the watch's charm. Designed for intensive use in extreme conditions, it is comfortable to wear. Its flexibility, lightness, and quality craftsmanship make it a perfect everyday strap. Made from FKM Viton® Rubber and fitted with an IP bronze ardillon buckle, this Tropic strap has a width of 19 mm for the 39 mm case and a width of 20 mm for the 41 mm diameter case.
The strap for this watch is available in two sizes, which you can select from the drop-down menu. The medium size measures 180 mm and fits wrists from 14 to 17 cm. The large size measures 208 mm and is ideal for wrists between 17.5 cm and 20 cm.
This model offers water resistance of 30 atmospheres, or 300 meters. Whether you're splashing around in the pool with the kids or gearing up for professional scuba diving, this watch handles it all. The deep sea doesn't stand a chance - you've arrived! Explore away, and one last tip from the Ocarat team: don't touch the pushers or crown on the way down!
