The Watch

Founded in 1858, Vulcain is a Swiss watchmaking brand that crafts timepieces as precise as they are timeless. Renowned for its Cricket caliber, it also offers a wide range of impressive models - including the Skindiver Orange 660170A67. This is a re-edition of a mythical and rare dive watch from the 1960s. With a vintage look, it features a highly charming round case measuring 38 mm in diameter and 12.20 mm thick. Crafted in 316L stainless steel with polished and brushed finishes that complement its silver tone, it exudes a sophisticated air. The case is topped by a notched, unidirectional bezel fitted with a black ceramic insert marked by a minute track and a luminescent marker. Everything is crowned by a domed sapphire crystal that reinforces the model's retro look, protecting the dial from scratches and damage while offering a clear view of it. The crown features a neatly ridged profile for a confident grip when setting the hour and minute hands. The whole package is backed by a screwed case back delivering 20 ATM water resistance.

The Dial

The dial sports a matte orange color with vintage-inspired flair, giving it a vivid and eye-catching look. It is underlined by a black minute track with bold bars at every 5-minute interval. The hour indexes are classic dive-watch style - a triangle at 12 o'clock, batons at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, and round dots for the remaining hours, ensuring clear readability. Framed by black borders, these markers are coated in white Luminova for excellent legibility in dark environments. They are paired with luminescent baton hands for the hours and minutes and a slender seconds hand - all in a clean design with a silver tone. The dial is finished with the brand's signature in black just below 12 o'clock, followed by the collection name. At 6 o'clock, the mentions "Incabloc" and "25 Jewels" appear alongside the "L. Swiss Made. L" inscription as a reminder of the watch's origin.

The Movement

The automatic movement powering this model is Swiss-made. It is the ETA 2824-2 H3 (V66) caliber, fitted with 25 jewels and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 38 hours. Recognized for its reliability, precision, and quality of execution, it provides an analog display of hours, minutes, and seconds.

The Strap

This watch comes with three straps to choose from in the dropdown menu. All three feature a quick-release system for effortless swapping and each has either a deployant clasp or a buckle. Note that the lug width is 20 mm, tapering to 16 mm on both models.

The first strap is crafted in black tropic-style rubber - comfortable and supple. Perforated, it has a great aesthetic appeal and a sporty look perfectly suited to a dive watch.

The second strap is crafted in bovine leather with a carbon finish in black. Elegant and comfortable to wear, it adapts to all styles and occasions.

The third strap is crafted in stainless steel with brushed finishes in gray. Comfortable and well-matched to the case, it brings a more urban edge to the overall look.

Water Resistance

This model offers a water resistance of 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters. Ladies and gentlemen, here is a watch ready to take you deep into your aquatic pursuits! Designed for freediving, it laughs in the face of water - you can even use a pressure washer with this timepiece on your wrist without a worry. Shower, bath, sports swimming, and freediving are all covered. That said, for scuba diving with tanks we recommend a timepiece with a higher water resistance rating. Also be sure not to operate the crown or pushers while submerged, to protect the integrity of the mechanism.
