The Watch

Humbert-Droz is a generational French brand that has perpetuated exceptional craftsmanship across four generations. Each timepiece is carefully finished and tells a story you'll be proud to carry wherever you go. Through its HD9 collection, Humbert-Droz presents 5 watches paying tribute to the oceans. The one presented here is inspired by the Atlantic. It features a case with a diameter of 45 mm, a thickness of 13 mm, and a length of 50 mm - dimensions perfectly suited to men's wrists. It is fitted with a knurled, unidirectional bezel with 120 clicks, graduated with a minute track and a luminescent marker. It frames a flat sapphire crystal that is highly scratch- and shock-resistant, protecting the dial from daily wear. Hours, minutes, and date can be set via the screw-down crown engraved with the brand logo at 3 o'clock. The caseback is screwed and transparent, providing a full view of the movement's inner workings, and ensures water resistance of 20 ATM.

The Dial

This round dial is dressed in a blue tone with a sunray finish. The color evokes the depths of the ocean and will captivate water sports enthusiasts. Its perimeter features a minute track followed by geometric markers that indicate the hours. These, along with the rhodium-plated hands above them, are coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring clear time-reading even in low-light conditions. The hours are shown by the large hand, the minutes by the small hand, and the seconds by the slender seconds hand. A white-background aperture at 3 o'clock displays the date day by day, topped by a cyclops lens for enhanced readability. Finally, as its signature, the brand's name appears at 12 o'clock represented by a double index, with brand-specific information at the opposite position.

The Movement

Humbert-Droz fitted this watch with an in-house La Joux-Perret G100 automatic movement. It is equipped with 24 jewels and beats at a frequency of 28,800 alternations per hour. It will power this model's functions with precision and deliver a power reserve of 68 hours.

The Strap

This watch comes with two straps so you can switch up your style as you please. Both are flexible and feature a 20 mm lug width.

The first strap is crafted in 316L stainless steel with brushed and polished finishes that enhance its elegant appearance. It features links of varying shapes and is secured to your wrist with an easily operated deployant clasp.

The second strap offered with this model is crafted in rubber. Featuring a blue color and contrast stitching, it is ideal for sporting activities and is secured to your wrist with an ardillon buckle.

Water Resistance

With water resistance of 20 atmospheres, equivalent to 200 meters, this model can confidently be called a dive watch. Watchmaking experts agree that while this timepiece is more than suited for showering, bathing, lap swimming, freediving, and recreational scuba diving, it is not intended for extreme deep-sea diving, where the pressure would exceed its water resistance rating. For professional divers looking to push depth limits, we recommend models rated at 30 ATM or above. We also recommend not operating the pushers or crown while in the water to maintain a perfect seal.
