Certina is a Swiss brand renowned for its high-quality, precise, and reliable sport timepieces. In 1959, it introduced the DS Concept, guaranteeing maximum resistance. Over the decades, this double-security system has been continuously refined to meet the latest technical standards. Today, we present the DS-2 Watch C0246074805110 special edition - a capable companion for any situation, blending performance, durability, and style in perfect harmony. With its vintage aesthetic, it features a tonneau case measuring 41 mm wide, 42 mm long, and 11.70 mm thick, weighing 65 grams. The case is crafted from lightweight, corrosion-resistant titanium with an elegant brushed finish. It houses a rotating notched bezel fitted with a black aluminum insert engraved with a 60-minute scale and a SuperLuminova marker. The bezel surrounds a flat sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, protecting the dial from scratches while ensuring optimal legibility. On the right side of the case sits the notched, screw-down crown for setting the hours, minutes, and date. The screw-down case back features a display window so you can admire the movement, and is engraved with the Sea Turtle Conservancy logo - an organization dedicated to protecting sea turtles and their habitats. This case back ensures water resistance to 20 ATM.
This watch features a classic, clean, easy-to-read dial. It boasts a black lacquered base that subtly contrasts with the rest of the markers - rectangular indices marking each hour, treated with SuperLuminova at the center. That same luminescence appears on the baton hands and the seconds hand arrow, ensuring legibility even in the dark. The seconds hand features a blue tint, adding a striking pop of color to the dial. A railroad minute track runs along the dial's edge for precise timekeeping. At 3 o'clock, a white date window keeps you on schedule. Certina finishes the look with its vintage double-C logo and name below 12 o'clock, and the DS-2 logo above 6 o'clock.
Powering this timepiece is an automatic movement - the ETA Powermatic 80.611 caliber, fitted with an antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring. It delivers an 80-hour power reserve and beats at 21,600 vph. With 25 jewels, it drives a reliable three-hand analog display with a date window.
This watch comes on a black synthetic textile strap with a blue-grey striped pattern, secured by a pin buckle crafted in titanium. This comfortable strap features a 20 mm lug width.
This model offers water resistance to 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters. Whether you're into freediving or high-pressure water activities, this watch can keep up. It handles showers, baths, lap swimming, and freediving with ease. For scuba diving with tanks, we recommend a timepiece with a higher water-resistance rating. Avoid operating the crown or pushers while submerged to preserve the movement's integrity.
