The story of Le Jour begins in the 1960s. A beloved name among watch enthusiasts and collectors alike, the brand drew its clean lines from the worlds of motorsport, sailing, and aviation. Now Le Jour is back with the Mark I Chronograph collection. Steeped in the spirit of retro masterpieces and enduring elegance, this chronograph adds a touch of refinement and modernity to your wrist. The polished 42 mm 316L stainless steel case combines a brushed satin finish with polished bright edges for an impeccably charming, commanding presence. Topped with a domed sapphire crystal, it highlights the classic craftsmanship of a bygone era. The rose gold IP-plated bezel features a sporty tachymeter designed to work in tandem with the chronograph. A knurled crown at 3 o'clock lets you set the time with ease, flanked by two pushers at 2 and 4 o'clock for effortless chronograph operation. The engraved screwed caseback adds a refined finishing touch while ensuring water resistance to 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters.
This model features a matte gray dial with a grained finish. The inner edge is bordered by a black minute track. Nighttime legibility is guaranteed by the Super-LumiNova C3 coating applied to the hour and minute hands and the twelve square indexes. Three subdials enable the chronograph function: the one at 9 o'clock shows the seconds, the one at 6 o'clock the hours, and the one at 12 o'clock the minutes. A day/date window is positioned at 3 o'clock. Finally, Le Jour signs the dial at 3 o'clock above the day/date window, with the movement details displayed just below.
This watch is powered by the Swiss automatic Sellita SW500 movement. This 25-jewel caliber displays hours, minutes, a dedicated small seconds subdial, and the date. It features a stop-seconds function for setting the time to the exact second, along with a chronograph function with 30-minute and 12-hour counters. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph, with a power reserve of 48 hours.
Paired with the case, the brand chose a five-row jubilee bracelet. Its multi-link structure contours naturally to the wrist while delivering a sleeker, more refined aesthetic. Crafted in polished 316L stainless steel, the outer links are wider than the center links for a distinctive look. Its natural silver tone makes it effortlessly versatile with any outfit. With a 22 mm lug width, it fastens securely with a silver deployant clasp.
This model delivers water resistance to 20 atmospheres - 200 meters. That means it can keep up with serious aquatic adventures. Designed for freediving, it handles pressure washing, showering, bathing, lap swimming, and breath-hold diving without breaking a sweat. For scuba diving with tanks, however, we recommend a timepiece with a higher water resistance rating. Always avoid operating the crown or pushers while the watch is submerged to preserve the movement's integrity.
