The Watch

Founded in 1925, Laco is a prestigious German watchmaker known for its beautifully crafted, vintage-inspired timepieces. Drawing directly from aircraft instrument panels, the brand introduces the Aachen Pilot 861690.2 - a pilot's watch that honors the brand's golden era with its distinctly military, vintage design. It features a round case crafted from stainless steel with a fully matte brushed finish. The case has a commanding presence with a 42 mm diameter, an 11.75 mm thickness, a lug-to-lug length of 50 mm, and a weight of 93.30 g. The crystal is a double anti-reflective sapphire glass, ensuring optimal dial legibility while protecting against scratches and damage. The crown at 3 o'clock features a distinctly vintage profile, and its knurled grip provides excellent control when setting the hands. The display back is transparent, offering a stunning view of the meticulously decorated movement, and delivers a water resistance of 5 ATM.

The Dial

Sober and refined, the dial delivers perfect legibility and a striking contrast. It features a deep matte black finish. The outer edge is framed by a minute track with wide graduations and long bars every 5 minutes, encircling a set of Arabic numerals running from 5 to 55 minutes, with an arrow index at 12 o'clock for quick reading. The hours are displayed at the center within a ring, also marked in Arabic numerals from 1 to 12. Paired with a slender seconds hand, the hour and minute hands are bold and distinctive, shaped like a sword. Both the hands and all markers are treated with SuperLuminova C3 for clear, reliable legibility in any lighting condition. Finally, the center of the dial is signed with the Laco brand logo at 12 o'clock and the inscription "Made in Germany" at 6 o'clock.

The Movement

This model is powered by a Laco 2S automatic movement - the Miyota 82SO caliber, manufactured in Japan and engraved with the Laco name. A reliable and precise caliber, it features 21 jewels and beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. It offers a power reserve of 40 hours and runs with an accuracy of -20/+40 seconds per day.

The Strap

This watch comes paired with a beautiful calfskin leather strap. In brown with contrasting white stitching and a subtly grained finish, it measures 20 mm at the lug width. Two silver rivets near each lug add an authentic, vintage touch. Comfortable to wear, the strap features a pin buckle and fits wrist sizes from 16 to 21 cm.

Water Resistance

This model offers a water resistance of 5 atmospheres, or 50 m. Built to impress, it's as capable as it is elegant. You can wear it in the shower - though the Ocarat team recommends leaving it safely on the edge of the sink to preserve its shine and longevity. Swimming and diving are not recommended, as doing so risks damaging the watch and incurring repair costs.
