Ralf Tech was founded in 1996 by a French diver with a bold ambition: to engineer equipment purpose-built for professional deep-sea exploration. After all, while humanity has managed to travel to space and walk on the moon, the ocean floor remains largely out of reach. From 2008 onward, the French manufacture turned its focus to watchmaking - creating fully water-resistant, high-quality timepieces equally suited to underwater diving and everyday life. The Ralf Tech WRB collection holds a special place in the brand's history: it is the final series designed by Ralf Tech's founder. The WRB Original Black is above all a versatile watch. Its 39mm case diameter makes it a perfect fit for both men and women. The case in micro-blasted 316L surgical steel with black PVD treatment is tough enough to withstand marine immersion without damage. With water resistance up to 20 bar, this watch is ready for serious aquatic adventures. The black screw-down crown at four o'clock allows manual time adjustment. The case also features a black anodized aluminum bezel with a unidirectional 120-click minute countdown. The dial is shielded by a 2.5mm domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. On the caseback, the screw-down case back is engraved with a serial number - because this is a limited edition of just 100 pieces. It arrives presented in a polycarbonate explorer case.
The dial's classic round shape pairs with a 95% matte black dial background. It is framed by a bezel graduated with yellow/green squares. Around the outer edge, a minute track is marked with small white indexes and yellow/green markers, the same color used for the Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock. This distinctive color is the result of SuperLuminova C5 technology applied to the indexes, numerals, and hands, delivering 89% luminosity. The three hands (hours, minutes, and seconds) are crafted in 316L steel. The two main hands are luminescent along their center, while the third glows at its tip. The water resistance rating and movement information are also visible on the lower portion of the dial - and under the water or in the dark, the Ralf Tech name will glow beneath the 12 o'clock index. This near-fully luminescent dial is as beautiful as it is functional in any lighting condition.
This analog-display watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement. The Japanese caliber housed inside the case is the RTA003. Its rotor winds the system as you wear the watch, and once removed, the power reserve extends up to 44 hours. The caliber features 24 jewels and an oscillation frequency of 3 Hz - a reliable movement in both durability and precision.
The strap included with this watch is made of black silicone, subtly textured with diamond-shaped patterns. It's flexible, lightweight, and safe for deep-water immersion. Practical and versatile, it fastens easily with an adjustable pin buckle. The lug width is 22mm, with a slimmer 20mm buckle. This watch also comes with a second black zulu strap - a fabric option that's perfect for more casual, urban wear. Mix and match to suit your mood!
This model is water resistant to 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters - making it a true companion for deep-water activities. It is designed for freediving and can even handle high-pressure water cleaners without a second thought. Showers, baths, vigorous swimming, and freediving are all fair game. For scuba diving with tanks, however, we recommend a timepiece with a higher water resistance rating. As always, avoid operating the crown or pushers while submerged to protect the integrity of the movement.
