The Watch

Known for its wide range of multifunctional timepieces, Casio presents the WV-59R-1AEF - a watch built for your busy everyday life. Part of the Wave Ceptor collection, it features a case crafted from stainless steel and resin. This rectangular case puts multiple functions (detailed below) at your fingertips via 4 push-buttons on the sides (2 on the left, 2 on the right). The watch measures 48.3 mm wide by 39 mm long and weighs 40 grams. An acrylic crystal covers the dial for everyday protection, while the screw-secured case back delivers 5 ATM water resistance.

Features

Illuminator: An electroluminescent backlight lights up the entire dial for easy reading in low-light conditions.

DCF / MSF / WWVB / JJY Radio Signal Reception System: Across Europe, the United States, much of Canada, Central America, and Japan - once set to the correct time zone, the watch picks up the corresponding radio signal and always displays the exact time. As a bonus, it automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time in a wide range of countries.

World Time Function: The world time feature displays the current time across up to 29 different time zones.

Stopwatch - 1/100 sec. - 1 hour: Measures elapsed time, split times, and finish time to the nearest hundredth of a second, up to a maximum of one hour.

Countdown Timers - 1/1 min - 1 hour: Perfect for precision-minded users - countdown timers are ideal for remembering recurring or special events, sounding an alert at the set time. They can be configured to the minute, up to 24 hours in advance.

Daily Alarm: The daily alarm sounds at the set time to remind you of recurring daily events.

Day of the Week Display in Multiple Languages: The day-of-the-week display can be set to different languages.

Button Tone On/Off: The button beep can be turned off using the Mode button. Once disabled, the watch will no longer beep when switching between functions. Any set alarms or countdown timers remain active after the button tone is disabled.

Auto Calendar: Once set, the auto calendar always displays the correct date.

12/24-Hour Timekeeping: Time is displayed in either 12-hour or 24-hour format.

The Dial

This rectangular digital dial is predominantly black, featuring a large square display area where all the functions of this sporty Casio can be accessed. Below it, a rectangular window shows the day of the week. The 4 push-buttons on the sides control every feature visible on the dial. Time can be read in either 12-hour or 24-hour format. Casio signs this model with its name in white capital letters at the top left of the dial.

The Movement

A battery is included to power all the features of this watch, delivering approximately 2 years of life.

The Strap

The strap is crafted from lightweight black resin, offering a comfortable and secure fit. It fastens with a deployment clasp.

Water Resistance

This model offers 5-atmosphere water resistance, rated to 50 m. It's built to look stunning and perform under pressure - beauty and resilience in equal measure. You can wear it in the shower, though the Ocarat team recommends setting it aside by the sink to preserve its finish and integrity over time. Swimming and diving are not recommended, as water damage at those depths may result in costly repairs.
