Alpina presents this stunning three-hand watch, the Alpiner Extreme Automatic AL-525B4AE6. The case measures 41 mm in diameter and is crafted from brushed stainless steel, with a thickness of 11.50 mm. A highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal sits over the case to protect the dial. The caseback is transparent, offering a captivating view of the movement in action. Six screws adorn the brushed bezel, and the screw-down crown sits at 3 o'clock. The caseback is also secured by screws, ensuring water resistance to 200 meters.
The round black dial is engraved with small triangles that add an elegant texture to this piece. Three central hands display the hours, minutes, and seconds. The hour and minute hands are coated with luminescent material, as are the hour markers, ensuring legibility in low-light conditions. A subtle white minute track runs along the dial's outer edge. At 3 o'clock, a date window sits against a black background. Finally, the manufacture signs the dial at 12 o'clock, while "Swiss Made" and "Automatic" appear at 6 o'clock.
Inside this case beats an automatic movement - more specifically, the AL-525 caliber, which drives the watch's three hands and powers the date display. This movement delivers a 38-hour power reserve, features 26 jewels, and runs at a frequency of 28,800 vph.
To keep this watch fully water-resistant, Alpina equips it with a black rubber strap - the ideal material for aquatic use. The watch fastens securely to the wrist with a deployant clasp.
With a water resistance of 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters, this model earns its title as a true dive watch without hesitation. Our watchmaking experts agree: it handles showers, baths, lap swimming, freediving, and recreational scuba with ease. That said, it is not built for extreme deep-sea diving, where pressure at depth would exceed its limits. For professional divers tackling serious depths, we recommend looking at 30 ATM models and above. As always, keep the pushers and crown untouched while underwater to maintain a perfect seal.
