The Watch

Vulcain created the world's first alarm watch, drawing inspiration from the cricket to craft enigmatic timepieces treasured by collectors and watch enthusiasts alike. The new Cricket Classique is a superb vintage reissue of the iconic model once favored by multiple presidents. The watch is built around a case in polished 316L stainless steel, topped with a domed sapphire crystal featuring an anti-reflective coating. Ideal for men's wrists, the case measures 36 mm in diameter and 12.80 mm in thickness. Central elements are adjusted via a crown and a push-button crown placed on the right side. The caseback is offered in two versions - one in steel with a screw-down and one transparent in sapphire crystal that reveals Vulcain's iconic V. Both ensure a water resistance of 5 ATM.

The Dial

This Cricket Classique carries on the cricket heritage with a dial in a semi-matte eggshell color, marked by applied Arabic numeral hour markers. Its round shape is bordered by an alarm scale encircling a minute track for added timekeeping precision. These markers are indicated by two alpha hands that sweep fluidly to display hours and minutes under any conditions. They are joined by a slender seconds hand and a fourth arrow-tipped hand dedicated to the alarm. For nighttime legibility, the dial features luminescent markers. The dial is signed with the brand and collection names placed beneath 12 o'clock, marked with a diamond shape.

The Movement

This watch is powered by a 12-ligne manual-wind movement. Precise and reliable, it is specifically the V-10 caliber featuring 165 components and oscillating at a frequency of 18,000 alternations per hour. Being mechanical, the alarm function is the heart of this model - it produces a cricket-like sound by means of a hammer striking a pin just above the balance wheel.

The Strap

The Cricket Tradition watch is paired with a brown alligator leather strap with a quick-change spring bar and a 316L stainless steel tang buckle as the clasp. The light-colored contrast stitching enhances the strap's charm, adding a perfect finishing touch to your wrist. The lug width measures 18 mm and the buckle width is 16 mm.

Water Resistance

With a water resistance of 5 atmospheres, equivalent to 50 meters, this watch takes a confident first step into the world of water resistance. While it is not designed for bathing, lap swimming, or scuba diving, you can afford to forget to remove your timepiece before stepping into the shower. That said, our experts recommend keeping it dry to preserve its movement for years to come.
