The iconic Japanese watch brand Seiko was founded in 1881 in Tokyo by Kintaro Hattori. Renowned for its spirit of innovation and expertise in horology, it offers an extensive range of watches - from accessible everyday models to cutting-edge pieces. In 1969, Seiko invented the first quartz movement, revolutionizing the watch industry by delivering unprecedented precision at an affordable price. Today, from the 5 Sports collection, comes this watch SSK035K1 with its bold, sporty design. The model features a round case measuring 42.50 mm in diameter and 13.55 mm in thickness - a perfect fit for men's wrists. Crafted in brushed silver-toned stainless steel, it is topped by a grooved, two-tone, unidirectional bezel featuring a GMT graduation in 24-hour format. A flat hardlex crystal crowns this 161 g case, protecting the dial from shocks. Hours, minutes, and date can all be set via the grooved crown at 4 o'clock. Finally, the screwed and transparent case back ensures water resistance of 10 ATM while letting you admire the movement inside.
The beautiful green dial is the centerpiece of this elegant model. Its outer edge features a minute railroad track alongside Arabic numerals in 24-hour format, followed by geometric indices. These, along with the hands at the center, are coated with a Lumibrite treatment for excellent legibility even in the dark. The two main hands sweep to indicate the hours and minutes, while the slender seconds hand tracks the seconds. The yellow arrow hand handles the GMT function. The date is shown through the cyclops-magnified date window at 3 o'clock. Finally, Seiko signs its creation just below the 12 o'clock index with its name.
This watch is fitted with an automatic movement of Japanese origin - specifically the reliable Seiko caliber 4R34 - which drives the hands and date window. It features 24 jewels to minimize friction and is equipped with a stop-seconds mechanism. This movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivers a power reserve of 41 hours.
This bracelet is crafted in silver-toned stainless steel with satin and polished finishes. Comfortable enough for every adventure, it adds a refined touch to your look. It features a deployment clasp with push-buttons and a safety lock for easy, secure wear, with a lug width of 22 mm.
This model offers water resistance of 10 atmospheres, or 100 meters - making it a genuinely water-resistant watch. Ready to leap into aquatic adventures with you, it handles everything from puddles to the pool without missing a beat. Showers, baths, and intense swim sessions are all fair game. That said, watch experts want to be clear: this model is water-resistant but not suited for diving (professional or recreational) and should be kept away from high-pressure cleaning equipment. We also recommend avoiding the crown and pushers during submersion.
