Founded in the aftermath of World War I in 1917, the watchmaking manufacture Schulp & Co was established in Longeau, Switzerland, by three brothers: Fritz, Ernst, and Werner. It would take until the 1950s for the first timepieces to be sold under the Rado name. The brand's fortieth anniversary marked the creation of the iconic Golden Horse collection.
In a constant pursuit of innovation, Rado introduced the world's first scratch-resistant watch in 1962: the Rado DiaStar 1 was born.
