The Watch

Rado is widely recognized as an industry leader in ceramic watches, offering a remarkable variety of colors. The DiaStar made its debut in 1962 with a groundbreaking design built from a range of cutting-edge materials - making it the world's first scratch-resistant timepiece. This new DiaStar Original features a cushion-shaped oval case in monochrome stainless steel with a light-toned finish. Topped with a Ceramos cap, it measures 38 mm wide, 45 mm long, and 12.1 mm thick. A faceted sapphire crystal with parallel bands - a signature detail of this model - sits atop the case, protecting the dial from damage. A notched crown at 3 o'clock makes setting and handling easy. Finally, 10 ATM water resistance via a snap-back case makes it a thoroughly capable everyday companion.

The Dial

The dial of this DiaStar Original features a circular shape in green. Brushed lines give it a more complex overall look that shifts with the viewing angle. Its double window displays the day of the week in a color-framed aperture, shown in its abbreviated three-letter format. It features 3 hands in white, with the hour and minute hands treated with Super-LumiNova for smooth legibility in low-light conditions. The collection name and movement type are printed on either side of the hands' intersection.

The Movement

This watch is powered by a Rado R764 automatic movement with Nivachron, offering a power reserve of approximately 80 hours. With enhanced resistance to magnetic fields, this movement delivers analog display with reliability and precision.

The Strap

This new version of the Rado DiaStar Original features a brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet. Composed of a row of 3 links, it gracefully hugs the curves of your wrist, and is secured with a push-button deployment clasp for effortless wear.

Water Resistance

This model offers water resistance of 10 atmospheres, or 100 meters. It's a genuinely water-resistant timepiece - ready to dive into aquatic adventures with you. From puddles to the pool, this watch handles water without complaint. Showers, baths, and recreational swimming? No problem. That said, our Ocarat watch experts want you to know that while this model is water-resistant, it is not suitable for diving (professional or recreational) and is sensitive to high-pressure cleaning equipment. We also recommend keeping the crown and pushers dry during immersion.
