Founded in 1893 by German watchmaker Johannes Dürrstein, the iconic Union Glashütte brand has carved out a distinguished name in the watchmaking world through its dazzling creations - renowned for their exceptional precision, refined aesthetics, and proven technical mastery. Channeling the essence of fine German watchmaking through every model and showcasing a steadily evolving ingenuity, the brand continues to impress with vintage, elegant, and sporty timepieces that marry sophisticated performance with a design forever rooted in the spirit of the times. Today we present its iconic Noramis collection - a line of retro-modern, refined timepieces - through this captivating Chronograph Sport D012.927.17.047.00. Whether you're standing out at a chic evening event or pushing new limits on the water, this "Made in Germany" dive watch is destined to become your go-to daily companion - never leaving your wrist as it accompanies you with total reliability through every adventure, from city streets to the most extreme environments. With its timeless design, meticulous finishing, and sophisticated aesthetics, it will be the final touch that elevates your look day and night with a bold sport-chic attitude. It features a round case measuring 43 mm in diameter and 15.80 mm in thickness - ideal proportions for men's wrists. Crafted in 316L stainless steel with a polished surface and brushed edges, it delivers a dazzling effect once on the wrist. Weighing 136 g, it wears comfortably for any occasion and suits all wrist sizes. Positioned on the right side are a screw-down crown with a knurled design and two push buttons in grey, allowing you to control the hands, subdials, and aperture at any time. A quick date corrector is located at 10 o'clock for added functionality. The dial is shielded from shocks and everyday scratches by a domed sapphire crystal, fitted with an anti-reflective treatment on both sides for maximum legibility from every angle. It is framed by a rotating bezel with a knurled profile for measuring elapsed time via its minute graduations, including a luminescent triangular marker, all engraved on its black ceramic insert. Secured by screws, the case back ensures 20 ATM water resistance and offers an unobstructed view of the movement through its transparent aperture.
In perfect harmony with the watch's nautical theme, a round dial sits gracefully within the case, revealing a stunning smoked navy blue sunbrushed finish. It lends the whole piece a touch of refined freshness and enables a clean, fluid analog display. Two baton hands in silver with pointed tips indicate hours and minutes with great precision - even in the dark, thanks to their luminescent coating. The slender hand with its luminescent triangular tip tracks the chronograph seconds. The caseback, signed "Made in Germany", is framed by a finely graduated minutes railway track marked with white indices and triangles every 15 minutes. Hours are marked by silver indexes with a luminescent coating for enhanced legibility. Noon is indicated by an Arabic numeral, while the remaining indexes feature a triangular shape. You'll also notice two subdials at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions. The first handles the 30-minute function, while the second shows the small seconds. The latter features an aperture displaying black Arabic numerals on a white background for the date. Finally, the brand signs the dial with its name below noon and places the collection name, the water resistance rating, and the "Chronograph" mention at 6 o'clock.
A high-quality automatic movement, developed in-house at the Union Glashütte workshops, powers this timepiece. Specifically, it is the in-house caliber UNG-27.S2. This 29-jewel movement beats at a frequency of 4 Hz - 28,800 vibrations/hour - and delivers a 65-hour power reserve. It drives the hands, subdials, and aperture with precision for clear, reliable reading of hours, minutes, seconds, date, and chronograph functions in any situation. Thanks to its silicon hairspring, it remains resistant to magnetic fields, temperature variations, and shocks, ensuring peak performance at all times.
Edox pairs this creation with a rubber strap, built for everyday wear whether you're navigating the city or heading out on a nautical adventure. It wraps your wrist with a featherlight touch, ensuring all-day comfort in any setting. On-trend and refined, it's crafted in rubber with a textured design that showcases its striking blue color. It pairs effortlessly with any outfit, lending each one a sport-chic edge. With a 21 mm lug width, it features a double deployant clasp in 316L stainless steel with push buttons, making it easy to handle while keeping the strap securely fastened throughout the day.
This model offers a water resistance of 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters. A watch ready to dive deep with you - built for freediving! And since water is no concern, you can even use high-pressure cleaners with this timepiece on your wrist. Showering, bathing, lap swimming, and freediving are all fair game. However, for scuba diving with tanks, we recommend a timepiece with a higher water resistance rating. Also, avoid operating the crown or push buttons while submerged, to protect the integrity of the movement.
