French watchmaker Herbelin was founded in 1947 in Charquemont, in the French Jura region. For nearly eight decades, the brand has remained committed to crafting high-quality French watches that honor the finest watchmaking traditions. Still family-owned and operated by the founder's descendants, Herbelin has never stopped pushing boundaries. The manufacture proudly presents its latest creation - a masterpiece of technical innovation and distinctive design: the Newport Chronograph Carbon Titanium Automatic Watch 288CTN14CY, a limited and numbered edition of just 500 pieces worldwide. A true concentration of technical and aesthetic breakthroughs. The round case measures 46.50 mm in diameter with a thickness of 16.30 mm - generous proportions that make this a distinctly men's timepiece. True to its innovative spirit, Herbelin crafted the entire case in forged carbon - an exceptional material produced by a unique machining process. Unlike conventional woven carbon fiber, forged carbon is created by blending carbon fragments with resin, delivering superior shock resistance to better protect your prized timepiece. The bezel, which proudly reveals the texture of its forged carbon composition, is secured by 5 hex screws and bears the collection name, Newport, at 6 o'clock. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the stunning dial. The chronograph pushers - at 2 o'clock to start/stop and at 4 o'clock to reset - are nut-shaped for a bold technical look. The winding crown is equally distinctive: screw-down and logo-engraved. Committed to excellence, Herbelin treated the caseback in titanium with DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) surface treatment for maximum durability. The caseback is also transparent, offering a mesmerizing view of the intricate movement that brings this timepiece to life.

The Dial

This watch showcases a stunning matte black striated dial, evoking the depths of the sea off Saint-Malo. The outer rim features a 60-minute graduation for timing at will, complete with a "Regate timer" indication at the 0 and 10-second marks. Every 5-second segment is framed by a fluorescent yellow border, echoing the color of the strap. The hour markers, in black, are designed in a trapezoidal shape with a white accent at their tip for enhanced legibility. The hour and minute hands, also in black, are sword-shaped and feature luminescent treatment. The chronograph central seconds hand shares the same fluorescent yellow color found elsewhere on the watch. The sub-counter at 6 o'clock displays elapsed hours up to a maximum of 12 hours. The sub-counter at 12 o'clock lets you time regatta countdowns with its 30-minute graduation - and like its twin, it features a delicate fluorescent yellow border. A white day-date window on a black background sits at 3 o'clock for an at-a-glance reference. The maison signs its creation at 9 o'clock and proudly inscribes "Made in France" at 6 o'clock.

The Movement

This high-end watch is powered by a movement as noble as the materials that compose it. At its heart beats a Swiss Sellita SW501 BV b automatic caliber. It features a central 60-second chronograph, a 15-minute sub-counter at 12 o'clock, and a 12-hour sub-counter at 6 o'clock. Its power reserve is an impressive 48 hours, ensuring outstanding autonomy. The frequency runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), delivering an exceptionally smooth sweep of the seconds hand. The movement also features a hacking seconds mechanism for precise time-setting and a quick-set date function.

The Strap

Because the strap is an integral part of this high-performance watch, Herbelin chose to craft it in fluorescent yellow FKM elastomer. FKM is one of the most heat-resistant elastomers available, standing up to extreme temperatures, chemical exposure, UV rays, oils, and fuels. The result is a strap built to withstand whatever you throw at it. The clasp is equally engineered: a titanium deployant buckle with a DLC coating, delivering both lasting comfort and exceptional durability.

Water Resistance

This model offers water resistance to 30 atmospheres, or 300 meters. Whether you're splashing around in the pool with the kids or diving deep on a professional dive, this watch has you covered.
