The Watch

The maritime world is at the heart of the Newport collection, reimagined by the French watchmaking house. Herbelin presents its Newport Automatic 1768A15GD. This timepiece is perfectly suited to men's wrists thanks to its proportions. Its 316L steel case features a 42 mm diameter and a 10.10 mm thickness. The sleekness of its curves is complemented by a discreet steel winding crown at 3 o'clock, letting you adjust the time indicators displayed on the dial at will. The dial itself is topped by a sapphire crystal - a material renowned in watchmaking for its exceptional resistance to the shocks and scratches of everyday life. Keep a steady hand on the helm with its steel bezel fitted with several screws, which also bears the collection name on its lower edge. Watch enthusiasts will also be drawn to the exposed movement visible through the transparent screwed case back. This gives the watch a water resistance of 10 ATM, up to 100 meters depth.

The Dial

Set sail across the oceans with this stunning round dial in blue. Clean and refined, the dial features a smoked and sunray finish that highlights the silver-toned time indicators. At its center, two hands display the hours and minutes, accompanied by straight baton indices - all coated with a luminescent treatment for easy reading in low-light conditions. A highly precise minute track runs along the perimeter of the dial. A sweep seconds hand circles the dial to display the seconds. A double aperture at 3 o'clock showcases the day and date. Finally, the house underscores the nature of its movement with the inscription "Automatique" at the bottom of the dial, while Herbelin signs the model at the 12 o'clock index.

The Movement

A Swiss automatic movement powers the hours, minutes, seconds, date, and day functions. The watchmaker partnered with Sellita to ensure reliable and precise display of these functions. This precision is delivered by the caliber SW220-1, operating at an oscillation frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a 38-hour power reserve.

The Strap

Go vintage-chic with this brown leather strap. Its white contrast stitching speaks to a bold, timeless craftsmanship. It fastens with a steel deployant clasp. Please note that the lug width measures 21 mm.

Water Resistance

This model offers a water resistance of 10 atmospheres, or 100 meters - making it a genuinely water-resistant timepiece. With its easygoing style, this watch is happy to join you in all things aquatic. From puddles to the pool, it handles splashes without complaint. Showering, bathing, and lap swimming? No problem. That said, our Ocarat watch experts want you to know that while this model is water-resistant, it is not designed for diving (professional or recreational) and should be kept away from high-pressure cleaning equipment. We also recommend not using the crown or pushers while the watch is submerged.
