Founded in 1867, Lip is a benchmark in the world of watchmaking. This storied French brand sets itself apart with iconic, precision-crafted timepieces of exceptional finesse - built on the promise of accuracy and distinction. Discover the Mythic Titane 671658. Manufactured in Besançon, this fully reimagined watch is inspired by the BIG TV designed by Roger Tallon, following the design of the Portavia 111 portable television. It comes with a modern square case measuring 35 x 35 mm with a thickness of 12 mm. Crafted from titanium - both resilient and remarkably lightweight at 116 grams - it features a beautiful brushed finish that enhances the contrast of its gray hue and gives it a striking aesthetic. The case is topped by a flat sapphire crystal that effectively protects the dial against scratches and damage. On the right side sits the fluted crown, engraved with the brand name and positioned at three o'clock for easy adjustment of hours and minutes. The case back features an opening that showcases the movement and its fine decorations, including Côtes de Genève. The screwed, brushed case back ensures a water resistance of 5 ATM.
The dial of this watch tells time in a truly distinctive way. Original and utterly charming, it features a matte black background that contrasts perfectly with the white markers. At the center sits a hollow circle housing three separate, stacked discs that display the hours, minutes, and seconds in Arabic numerals. These discs scroll with remarkable fluidity along a white vertical axis, perfectly positioned in the lower portion of the dial. This axis is a continuation of the letter P in the brand name Lip, printed at the center. The whole is completed by the inscription "Besançon France," reminding the wearer of their watch's place of origin.
This timepiece is powered by an automatic movement - specifically the Japanese Miyota 82S0 caliber, featuring 21 jewels and a power reserve of 39 hours. It operates at a frequency of 21,600 (3Hz) vibrations per hour and delivers precise analog display. This movement offers an accuracy of -20/+40 seconds per day.
The watch's aesthetic is completed by its bracelet crafted in titanium. It too features a beautiful brushed finish that harmonizes beautifully with the case. This bracelet is composed of a row of rectangular links, allowing for comfortable wear. The clasp is a butterfly deployment buckle stamped with the brand name.
This model offers a water resistance of 5 atmospheres, or 50 m. Beautifully crafted to turn heads, it doesn't sacrifice performance for looks - this watch can handle the elements. You can keep it on in the shower, though the Ocarat team recommends setting it on the edge of the sink to preserve its brilliance and integrity over time. Swimming and scuba diving, however, are strongly discouraged - exposure to those conditions risks damage and costly repairs.
