In 1981, Casio introduced a groundbreaking new lineup built to withstand shocks - and called it G-Shock, short for "Gravitational Shock". The Metal 2100 GM-2100-1AER watch is bold and built to last. It features a case measuring 44.4 mm wide by 49.3 mm long, crafted in silver stainless steel and reinforced with carbon fiber. At 11.8 mm thick and weighing 72 grams, it's perfectly proportioned for a men's wrist. The dial - shielded from shocks and scratches by a mineral glass crystal - delivers both analog and digital time display. It features two hands indicating hours and minutes via baton markers and a minute track. At 9 o'clock, a subdial shows the day of the week in English abbreviations, while a digital counter occupies the lower portion of the dial. The pushers on the left and right sides of the case give access to multiple functions including a 1/100 sec stopwatch, a countdown timer, and daily alarms. Finally, a screw-locked caseback keeps the watch water-resistant to 20 atmospheres.
The round dial features vertical striping and is dressed in gray. Two central black hands point to the hours and minutes. Hour markers around the dial are baton-shaped, while the minutes are indicated by a discreet minute track. At the 9 o'clock position, a subdial displays the day of the week via a silver hand using English abbreviations. At 5 o'clock, a digital subdial provides access to the various functions listed below. Finally, the brand signs its creation at 12 o'clock in black lettering and notes the model's water resistance rating at 3 o'clock.
Dual Illuminator:
When the electroluminescent backlight activates, both the digital and analog zones of the dial are illuminated.
World Time Function:
The world time function displays the current time in 29 time zones and major cities around the globe.
Stopwatch - 1/100 sec - 24 Hours:
Measures elapsed time to 1/100th-of-a-second precision over a maximum duration of 24 hours. An audible signal confirms the start and stop of the stopwatch.
Countdown Timers - 1/1 sec - 24 Hours:
For precision lovers: countdown timers keep you on track by emitting an audible signal at the set date and time for important or recurring events. Time can be programmed in seconds, up to 24 hours in advance.
5 Daily Alarms:
The daily alarm function triggers every day at your set time. The value shown corresponds to the number of available daily alarms.
Hand Shift Function:
This function moves the hands out of the way when they obstruct the display of the time, date, or stopwatch.
12/24-Hour Time Format:
You can display the time in either 12-hour or 24-hour format.
Button Beep On/Off:
The button beep can be turned off using the mode button. Once disabled, no beep sounds when switching between functions. However, any programmed alarms or countdown timers remain active after the button beep is turned off.
Neobrite Coating:
The hands and/or markers feature a fluorescent coating that continues to glow in the dark after the watch has been exposed to a light source.
Auto Calendar: Once set, the auto calendar always displays the correct date.
To keep the hands moving and the digital display running at their best, Casio equips this watch with a Japanese-made Quartz movement. Note that the battery offers a power reserve of 3 years.
Crafted in textured resin, the strap that accompanies your timepiece delivers everyday comfort and lightness. Its black color complements the watch's bold design and pairs effortlessly with any outfit, from casual to dressed up. Fasten it easily with its pin buckle.
This model offers water resistance to 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters. A watch that truly keeps up with your deepest aquatic pursuits! Designed for freediving, it holds its own against high-pressure washers too - so keep it on without worry. Showers, baths, swimming, and freediving are all fair game. For scuba diving with tanks, however, we recommend a timepiece with a higher water resistance rating. Also, avoid operating the crown or pushers while submerged to protect the movement's integrity.
