The Watch
You're no doubt familiar with the prestigious Junghans brand, which has held a central and fascinating place in German watchmaking since 1861. In collaboration with celebrated artist Max Bill, an iconic collection was born under the name Max Bill in 1961. Discover the Handaufzug 027/5703.00 from this legendary line. It comes in a polished stainless steel case with an elegant yellow gold PVD coating. With a 34 mm diameter and 9 mm thickness, its classic proportions suit all wrist sizes. A sapphire crystal sits atop the dial for enhanced resistance to shocks, scratches, and wear - and its domed shape ensures optimal legibility. At 3 o'clock, a yellow gold PVD crown enables manual winding. The snap-back case back provides a water resistance of 30 meters.
The Dial
As mentioned, legibility is a key priority here. The round dial features a silver-white background against which the black indices stand out clearly - simple yet highly effective for an at-a-glance read. At the center, three yellow gold PVD baton-shaped hands complement the case beautifully, indicating hours, minutes, and seconds. They point to black indices arranged around the dial perimeter - shorter batons for the minutes, taller ones for the hours. With careful attention to the crystal finish, dial details, and color choices, this watch is optimized for effortless timekeeping. The dial is signed "Junghans Design" at the 12 o'clock index, with the German origin noted at 6 o'clock.
The Movement
This watch houses a J805.1 manual-winding mechanical movement (base ETA 2801-2). This 17-jewel caliber displays hours, minutes, and seconds. The movement beats at 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour and features shock protection (Incabloc). The power reserve is 42 hours after a full wind.
The Strap
A rich brown leather strap adds a refined finishing touch to this timepiece. Its warm tone pairs beautifully with the gold-tone case and white dial. Tone-on-tone stitching lends a subtle vintage character. Comfortable enough to wear all day without feeling it on your wrist, it fastens securely with a classic pin buckle.
Water Resistance
With a water resistance of 30 meters - 3 atmospheres in watchmaking terms - this watch is far from a water lover like you. Water is the worst enemy of its delicate mechanism, and our team strongly recommends keeping it dry. Feel free to wear it in the rain or while washing the dishes, but skip the shower, the bath, the pool, and the ocean - it clearly prefers staying high and dry!
