The Watch

Today, in tribute to the brand's magnificent victory at the 1929 International Exhibition in Barcelona, Vulcain presents a reissue of the Grand Prix line with the Grand Prix 39mm Black Watch, designed for men. Its round case measures 46 mm in length, 39 mm in diameter, and 12.70 mm in thickness. Silver-toned, it is crafted from brushed and polished 316L stainless steel for lasting durability and a refined look. Its surface is covered by a double-dome sapphire crystal that protects the dial and features an anti-reflective coating for optimal legibility. At three o'clock, a gray fluted crown ensures a secure grip for adjusting the central hands. This model offers water resistance of 5 ATM, ensured by its screwed and engraved caseback bearing the brand name and relevant specifications.

The Dial

Clean and refined, this dial brings a polished touch to the model. It features a domed black background enhanced by a sunray finish that gives it a striking semi-glossy look. Round in shape, its perimeter showcases a minute track alternating with single and double baton indices at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock as hour markers. Together, these are swept with precision by the three hands fixed at the center. Silver-toned, they consist of a slender seconds hand, a long hand for the minutes, and a short hand for the hours. Below center, the movement type and country of manufacture are indicated at 6 o'clock. Finally, the brand places its name and collection name beneath the double index at 12 o'clock as its signature.

The Movement

At the heart of this watch beats an automatic movement of Swiss origin. Reliable and robust, the Landeron L24 caliber drives the hands with precision. It oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz), is equipped with 25 jewels to minimize friction, and offers a solid power reserve of 40 hours.

The Strap

This watch comes with a choice of 5 different straps to suit your style and preferences. Each strap features a lug width of 20 mm and a buckle width of 16 mm. All crafted from bovine leather with matching tone-on-tone stitching, they fasten to your wrist via a pin buckle in silver-toned 316L stainless steel.

The first three strap options come in black, brown, and gray. Their smooth leather surface offers a soft, refined feel that pairs effortlessly with the watch's overall aesthetic and your accessories. Modern and understated, they'll look stunning on your wrist.

The last two strap options come in brown and black, featuring an alligator-pattern surface. With their boldly vintage style, they'll sit perfectly on your wrist for any occasion.

Water Resistance

This model offers water resistance of 5 atmospheres, or 50 m - making it a beautifully crafted piece that's built to handle daily life. You can keep it on in the shower, though the Ocarat team recommends setting it aside to preserve its brilliance and integrity over time. For swimming and diving, we strongly advise against submerging this watch to avoid damage and costly repairs.
