Founded in 1946 in Tokyo by the four Kashio brothers, iconic brand Casio first made its name in consumer electronics before entering the watchmaking market in 1974. Known for trend-forward, durable, and highly functional timepieces, Casio has earned a truly global reputation. Today, the brand presents this stunning Capsule Color Accent GM-B2100AD-5AER watch. Drawing inspiration from the iconic DW-5000C - the very first G-Shock launched in 1983 - it pairs a contemporary design with premium-quality construction. Once on your wrist, it becomes your reliable, stylish companion for every adventure. Versatile enough to complement any outfit, it's equally at home in the city or out on the water. The octagonal case measures 44.40 mm in diameter and 49.80 mm in length, with a thickness of 12.80 mm - perfectly sized for men's wrists and engineered for all-day comfort. Weighing 165 g, it is crafted in stainless steel with a brushed/polished finish for a striking look. The integrated resin shock-absorbing components make it resistant to shocks and vibrations. The octagonal bezel with a circular brushed finish is rendered in 3D and features both the "G-Shock" and "Protection" inscriptions. Surrounding the mineral glass crystal that protects the dial, it also carries markings indicating the function of the pushers. Four pushers in total allow you to operate the watch with ease. Finally, this model is water resistant to 20 bar, secured by a screw-down case back.
The case of this model features a round dial with a refined design that brings a fresh, sophisticated touch to the overall look through its salmon color. Built with a two-layer construction and featuring a delicate injection molding process made possible by Yamagata Casio's advanced technology, the dial offers an analog-digital display for clear, easy-to-read timekeeping in any condition. The two pointed baton hands at the center feature Neobrite treatment, keeping hours and minutes visible even in the dark. They point to the twelve gray indices and the minute track arranged on the inner ring. This ring is finished with a PVD treatment and a polished finish, enhancing its visual appeal. It is marked by small rectangles also treated with Neobrite for optimal legibility. A sub-dial at 9 o'clock indicates the current watch mode and battery charge level. Between 3 and 6 o'clock, an LCD screen provides a digital display, showing the time, calendar information, and additional features such as the alarm, stopwatch, and world time. Finally, the brand name and the collection name "G-Shock" are printed below 12 o'clock, serving as a signature.
Powering this timepiece is Casio's Tough Solar system, which drives all components with exceptional smoothness. This solar movement of Japanese origin is renowned for its quality and reliability. Built-in solar cells integrated into the dial provide autonomous, eco-friendly energy. An accumulator stores surplus energy for optimal performance, and the rechargeable battery delivers up to 7 months of autonomy on a full charge.
"This watch is paired with a honeycomb-pattern bracelet that gives it a more modern edge. Crafted in stainless steel and shaped around a clean row of "Y" links, it is elevated by brushed and polished finishes, lending a refined yet robust look to your wrist - comfortable for any occasion. You can pair it with any outfit, secured by a triple-fold deployant clasp. This strap fits wrist circumferences from 150 to 205 mm."
With a water resistance rating of 20 atmospheres, equivalent to 200 meters, this model is what watchmakers confidently call a "dive watch." Our horological experts agree: while this timepiece handles showers, baths, lap swimming, free diving, and recreational scuba with ease, it is not designed for extreme deep-sea diving where pressure would eventually overwhelm its seals. For professional divers looking to push depth limits, we recommend models rated 30 atmospheres and above. We also strongly advise against operating the pushers or crown while in the water, to maintain a perfect seal at all times!
