German watchmaker Zeppelin takes its name from one of history's most iconic airships. The brand crafts high-performance timepieces with elegant design, quality construction, and precision movements. The Bodensee 8166-1 watch embodies the brand's DNA - a perfect marriage of aviator style and retro charm for the discerning man. It features a slim, round case with a distinctly vintage feel, crafted in stainless steel with a polished finish that catches the light beautifully. The case measures 40 mm in diameter with a 12 mm thickness, topped by a hardened K1 mineral crystal. Its domed profile deepens the retro aesthetic while protecting the dial from everyday shocks. On the right side, the crown features a silver cabochon and a refined knurled grip for effortless hand-setting. The whole is sealed by a snap-on caseback with a transparent exhibition window showcasing the movement's beautiful decorations - including Côtes de Genève finishing and sandblasting. This caseback ensures 5 ATM water resistance.
The dial on this watch is pared back to the essentials, with a minimalist, understated design that radiates timeless elegance. Its beige matte base delivers a calm, clear read. Silver baton indices ring the perimeter for precise hour marking, framing an inner minute track with bold markers at every 5 minutes. These are tracked by two silver dauphine hands with a luminescent coating for legibility in low light. Joined in their task by a subdial between 4 and 5 o'clock - fitted with a small black hand - to display the running seconds. The true showstopper is the open heart at 7 o'clock, offering a mesmerizing view of the movement and injecting visual dynamism into the dial. The brand signature is inscribed just below 12 o'clock, marked by an Arabic numeral. The movement type is noted at 9 o'clock, while the country of origin is indicated at 6 o'clock.
The analog display on this watch is driven by a Japanese-made automatic movement - specifically the Citizen-Miyota 82S5 caliber, equipped with 21 jewels and offering a 40-hour power reserve. It operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz) with a precision of -20/+40 seconds per day.
The strap on this model completes its vintage look with a rich dark brown tone and a crocodile-effect finish. Crafted from cowhide leather, it measures 20 mm wide at the lug. Comfortable to wear, it features a silver tang buckle and a length of 21 cm.
This model offers 5-atmosphere water resistance, equivalent to 50 m. Built to be as beautiful as it is capable, it holds its own against the elements without missing a beat. You can keep it on in the shower, though the Ocarat team recommends leaving it safely on the counter to preserve its brilliance and integrity over time. For swimming and diving, we strongly advise against wearing this watch in the water to avoid damage and costly repairs.
