The Dial

The dial of this watch showcases a blue hue against a sandblasted background reminiscent of a starlit sky. With a double-circle finish, it features a matte outer ring displaying the letters Y and N alongside the minute railroad track, indicating whether the reception display has completed successfully or failed. At the center, three hands sweep to show the hours, minutes, and seconds. Both the hands and the indices they traverse are coated with a Lumibrite treatment for enhanced legibility in low-light conditions. At 3 o'clock, a date window keeps you informed of the current date, while at 8 o'clock a subdial displays the reception process, airplane mode, charge status, and leap-second data reception. Finally, Seiko places its name near 12 o'clock as a signature.

The Movement

This model is equipped with a GPS solar movement of Japanese manufacture - specifically the Seiko caliber 3X62 - which drives the hands, date window, and subdial. It features 10 jewels and oscillates at a frequency of 32,768 vibrations per hour. This movement offers a power reserve of approximately 6 months at full charge and approximately 2 years in energy-saving mode, with a precision of ±15 seconds per month (without GPS signal reception, at temperatures between 5 and 35 °C).
