Founded in Havana in 1882, Cuervo y Sobrinos was born from the partnership of Armando Rio y Cuervo and his uncle, Ramón Cuervo. In its early days, the brand specialized in selling Swiss watches and high-quality jewelry. It later drew inspiration from the art, culture, and lifestyle of Cuba to craft its timepieces. Today, it is proud to present the Churchill 1895 GMT 2811.1GMTA watch, a tribute to the British statesman. Designed for elegant men, it celebrates the life of this great figure who never wavered in his love for the Caribbean island. This new model shares many features with previous versions. A limited edition of 200 pieces, it features a silver-tone case measuring 43 mm in diameter and 12.45 mm in thickness. Brushed and polished, the case is crafted from stainless steel and titanium, giving it exceptional durability. It showcases a sapphire crystal protecting the dial from shocks, with an anti-reflective coating for effortless legibility. At 3 o'clock sits a grey crown for adjusting the central functions. Finally, the caseback is closed with a transparent, engraved, screw-secured back ensuring water resistance of 10 ATM - and offering a stunning view of the movement's oscillations.

The Dial

This elegant dial brings a refined touch to this model. It reveals a silver-tone background elevated by a beautiful hobnail finish that adds an exquisite detail. A minute track follows its circular path, featuring alternating gold-tone Arabic numerals and spade-shaped indices of the same hue marking the hours. These are pointed to by three gold-tone hands at the center - composed of a short hour hand, a long minute hand, and a slender seconds hand - delivering reliable timekeeping. They are complemented by a small hand with a red arrow dedicated to the GMT function hours. This hand sweeps over black baton indices combined with Arabic numerals in 24-hour format. For added functionality, a date window topped with a cyclops lens is positioned at 3 o'clock. Below it, the Swiss Made label is inscribed, while the brand name appears above. Finally, the dial is signed with the brand's logo at 12 o'clock, with the brand name just below.

The Movement

At the heart of this case beats an automatic movement manufactured in-house - specifically the CYS 8122 caliber with a diameter of 26.20 mm, based on the Soprod C125. It oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph and features 25 jewels. This Swiss mechanism ensures precise hands, reliable date and GMT function display, and vibration resistance, delivering dependable analog timekeeping with a power reserve of 42 hours.

The Bracelet

This exceptional timepiece comes with two interchangeable bracelets, both exuding elegance.

The first bracelet is crafted from alligator leather. Enhanced with beige contrast stitching that echoes the dial's indices, it is elevated by a lustrous brown tone that adds a radiant touch. It drapes beautifully around the wrist with suppleness and ease, completing any outfit with effortless style and remarkable comfort. The silver-tone folding clasp lets you adjust the fit to perfection.

The second bracelet is lightweight and durable. Crafted in stainless steel, it combines a brushed and polished finish for a dressed-up look. Water Resistance

This model offers a water resistance of 10 atmospheres, or 100 meters - a genuinely water-ready timepiece. From puddles to the pool, this watch handles splashes, showers, baths, and recreational swimming without breaking a sweat. That said, our Ocarat watch experts note that while water-resistant, this model is not suited for diving (professional or otherwise) and is sensitive to high-pressure cleaning equipment. We also recommend keeping the crown and pushers locked during any water activity.
