Enter the Big Crown Calibre 473. Breathing fresh, modern life into the iconic Big Crown Pointer Date DNA, this watch will grace the wrists of gentlemen who appreciate true refinement. Crafted in stainless steel, its round case measures 38 mm in diameter and features a polished finish that defines its charm. It is topped by a double-domed sapphire crystal to absorb any impact that could damage the dial. An anti-reflective treatment on the inside ensures crystal-clear visibility from every angle. A screw-down crown sits elegantly at 3 o'clock on the case middle, used to set the hours, minutes, and date. The screw-down sapphire crystal case back provides 5 ATM water resistance while offering an admirable view of the movement. And there's more: Oris has placed a power reserve indicator on the back of the caliber - a clever, distinctive complication that tells you exactly when it's time to wind the movement.

The Dial

A mesmerizing blue dial sits gracefully within the case, enhancing the refined character of this watch. The hours and minutes are indicated by two pointed baton hands with a luminescent treatment, while the seconds are displayed on a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock. A slender red-tipped triangle hand points to Arabic numerals around the perimeter to display the date. The hours themselves are marked by white Arabic numerals encircled by a minute track, offering exceptional time legibility. Finally, Oris signs the dial with its name, the collection name, and the power reserve indicator below 12 o'clock, along with "Swiss Made" beneath the sub-dial.

The Movement

Designed entirely by Oris watchmakers, a Swiss manual-winding mechanical movement beats at the heart of this magnificent watch. More precisely, it is the all-new Oris Calibre 473. Like its siblings, it delivers reliable, consistent performance in every situation. Its strong anti-magnetic resistance ensures the smooth and accurate functioning of all hands, enabling precise reading of hours, minutes, seconds, and date. The power reserve gives the watch an autonomy of 120 hours - 5 full days. A sub-dial on the case back lets you monitor the remaining power reserve so you know exactly when to wind it.

The Strap

True to its eco-responsible ethos, this watch comes on a deer leather strap sourced from sustainable origins and produced by Oris's Swiss partner, Cervo Volante. In perfect harmony with every other component of this model, it adds a timeless touch to the overall aesthetic. In a warm brown hue, it elegantly follows the masculine lines of your wrist, ensuring comfortable, enjoyable all-day wear. It is fitted with a butterfly deployant clasp for effortless on and off. For the first time, it also features a fine adjustment system developed by Oris, allowing you to fine-tune the fit to your wrist with precision.

Water Resistance

With a water resistance of 50 meters, or 5 ATM in watchmaking terms, this timepiece can handle the occasional splash - but it's not built for extended water exposure. You can wear it in the shower every now and then, but to preserve the quality and precision of the movement, our watch specialists strongly recommend keeping it away from the H2O molecules found in baths, pools, or the sea. In short: no swimming, no diving, and no prolonged contact or immersion.
