The Citizen is a brand launched by Japanese watchmaker Citizen, dedicated to celebrating precision and horological excellence. In that spirit, the brand presents this two-tone timepiece with an impressive movement from the Chronomaster collection. Timelessly elegant, this watch is designed for the male wrist. The tonneau-shaped case is crafted from steel and dark grey PVD, known as "gunmetal". It measures 39mm in diameter and 11.6mm in thickness, topped by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. A knurled crown sits at 3 o'clock. The case back is screw-down and water-resistant to 10ATM.
A black dial sets a bold backdrop that beautifully contrasts with the watch's silver tones. The round case houses 3 hands at its center: the hour and minute hands feature a classic dauphine shape with luminous treatment, while the seconds hand takes on a sleek baton form. The dial is further adorned with baton indices in varying shapes, rendered in silver with luminous fill. A slightly angled chapter ring carries a minute track for precise timekeeping. The date is displayed through a square date window with a black background positioned at 3 o'clock. An power reserve indicator sits between 9 and 10 o'clock. Finally, the brand signs the dial at 12 o'clock and names the collection just above the 6 o'clock index.
This Japanese timepiece is powered by a solar quartz movement, caliber A010, engineered by Citizen. Natural or artificial light is captured by photovoltaic cells, converted into energy, and stored in the accumulator to keep the watch running. This movement accurately tracks hours, minutes, seconds, the date, and the power reserve level. Its perpetual calendar automatically recognizes months of 28, 30, or 31 days - leap years included - through 2100.
Sleek and elegant, this watch wears a bracelet crafted in stainless steel with a silver finish. It features rows of 3 links with a brushed finish. It is secured with a deployment clasp at its end.
With 100-meter water resistance - or 10 ATM in watchmaking terms - this bold timepiece is as at home on the dance floor as it is in the water. Feel free to wear it in the shower, the bath, or while swimming (even at a vigorous pace!). That said, our team of watch experts wants to be clear: this model is not designed for scuba diving, free diving, or use with high-pressure water jets. The golden rule: showers, baths, and swimming only - and keep those pushers and crown well away from the water!
