Seiko is a watchmaking manufacture founded in Tokyo in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori. Driven by a pursuit of perfection, it crafts innovative timepieces with cutting-edge technology and timeless designs. A pioneer of the watchmaking industry, it produces its own components and delivers products that blend style with tradition. The brand now introduces the Sports Watch SSB451P1 - a study in minimalist elegance with a remarkably high level of finishing. This edition features a tonneau case crafted in stainless steel, offering strength and durability. Silver-toned, it is elevated by a vertical brushed finish on the case middle and a circular brushed finish on the bezel, with subtly polished bevels for a more refined look. Impeccable in every detail, it measures 40 mm in diameter and 11.50 mm in thickness - dimensions that make it ideal for all men's wrists while ensuring comfortable wear. On top, it is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal whose composition promises outstanding scratch resistance to preserve the dial's appearance over time. The elegantly grooved crown at 3 o'clock handles hand and date setting, and is flanked on either side by attractive pushers with brushed bases and polished tips. Easy to operate, they control the chronograph. The whole is completed by a screw-down case back delivering 10 ATM water resistance.
While it may appear understated, the dial of this watch carries a refined presence that speaks to its quality. Beautiful to look at, it reflects a modern sensibility with a horizontal stripe finish that brings out its white color. The bezel ring is marked by a black minute track complemented by square indices with luminescent dots for clear legibility in dark environments. This clean dial is easy to read thanks to grey baton hour markers - doubled at 12 o'clock - that subtly contrast with the other elements. These are pointed to by the luminescent hands and a slim grey seconds hand. As for the three sunray grey sub-dials, the one at 3 o'clock displays 24 hours, the one at 6 o'clock shows the small seconds, and the one at 9 o'clock tracks 60 minutes. A date window with a white background sits between 4 and 5 o'clock, adding a practical everyday complication. Finally, the brand signs its design with its name at 12 o'clock, followed by the word "Chronograph".
This watch is powered by a Japanese-made quartz movement that delivers solid performance. The caliber in question is the Seiko 8T63, measuring 30.80 mm in diameter and powered by a 394 battery with a lifespan of 3 years. It operates with a precision of ±15 seconds per month and offers analog display, a chronograph complication, and a date function.
This model features an integrated bracelet that enhances its overall beauty and elegance. Silver-toned and crafted in stainless steel, it is composed of a row of brushed links carefully connected by polished bevels, creating a pleasing interplay of reflections. The clasp is a single push-button deployment buckle that ensures a secure and comfortable fit.
This model offers 10 atmospheres of water resistance, equal to 100 meters. In short: it's built to get wet. Whether you're splashing through puddles or jumping in the pool, this timepiece handles water without complaint - showers, baths, and active swimming are all fair game. That said, our Ocarat watchmaking experts want to be clear: while water-resistant, this model is not suited for diving (professional or otherwise) and should not be exposed to high-pressure cleaning equipment. We also recommend keeping the crown and pushers locked during submersion.
