The Ocarat Paris collection, crafted by a team of talented designers, showcases remarkable and innovative technical achievements that continue to inspire. With skilled gemstone artisans, Ocarat offers a wide, diverse range of high-quality products to satisfy the most discerning tastes. Elegance, purity, and timelessness are the guiding principles. Mindful of our planet's future, Ocarat Paris today introduces a modern, responsible alternative to the so-called "natural" diamond - one that proves beauty and ethics can go hand in hand: the lab-grown synthetic diamond.
This diamond is the solution to preserving our biodiversity. Continuing to extract so-called "natural" diamonds from the earth is a path to disaster. Mining operations only deepen serious ecological problems, causing irreversible damage to our ecosystems. The consequences are numerous: massive tailings spills that endanger both fauna and flora, severe disruption and contamination of groundwater through acid mine drainage, and dam failures.
The lab-grown synthetic diamond poses no threat to the environment - quite the opposite, it's part of the solution. Its supply chain is short and fully traceable, providing clear answers for those who care about our planet's future. It's worth noting that, just like a "natural" diamond, the lab-grown diamond shares the same characteristics: carat weight, color, diamond clarity, and cut are identical - and can even surpass those of a "natural" diamond. A lab-grown diamond is a high-quality jewelry piece, often superior to a "natural" diamond: mined stones offer no guarantee of being relatively inclusion-free, whereas lab-grown diamonds are produced under tightly controlled conditions. The physical, chemical, and optical properties are exactly the same, making them indistinguishable to the naked eye - even for a specialist.
The lab-grown synthetic diamond offers numerous advantages: faster production time (3 weeks to 1 month), an ethical footprint (no mine destruction, supporting biodiversity), immediate quality upon production, and a more attractive price point - 30% to 40% less expensive than a "natural" diamond.
The lab-grown synthetic diamond is produced in a laboratory using two equally eco-friendly and high-performance processes:
• HPHT (High Pressure, High Temperature): carbon and a solvent are heated under high pressure to 1,500 degrees, causing carbon atoms to aggregate around the diamond seed and grow over several weeks.
• CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition): diamonds are created in a low-pressure chamber using hydrogen, allowing carbon atoms to crystallize on the diamond seed.
This 750/1000 (18K) rose gold jewelry piece features a width of 0.90 mm and a length of 45 cm, with an average weight of 2 grams. This necklace is available in 3 different stone sizes: 0.30 ct, 0.50 ct, and 0.70 ct, with a diamond clarity of GVS2 (0.30 and 0.70 ct) and FVS2 (0.50 ct). This necklace was crafted with a round cable chain featuring a bezel solder to keep the diamond securely in place, along with a lobster clasp for added security.
