The Watch

Swiss watchmaking house Baume & Mercier has embodied horological excellence in every creation since its founding in 1830. The brand crafts elegant, contemporary timepieces featuring impressive complications. One of its iconic models is the Riviera, first unveiled in 1973 and inspired by the French Riviera lifestyle. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the brand launches the 5th generation of this iconic model, reviving the spirit of an inspiring era in watchmaking. It retains its distinctive dodecagonal bezel with twelve facets. On the 10720, the bezel is crafted in micro-blasted titanium and features a gold-tone stainless steel ring, secured to the case with 4 screws. This new case, crafted in stainless steel, measures 39 mm in diameter and 10.3 mm thick, with a polished and satin finish. A sapphire crystal above the dial provides excellent scratch resistance. The octagonal crown features a black accent for added visual flair and handles the setting of hours, minutes, and date. The screw-down case back features a transparent sapphire crystal window through which you can admire the richly decorated movement, showcasing Côte de Genève finishing on the skeleton rotor and perlage on the main plate. It also provides the watch with a water resistance of 10 ATM.

The Dial

This unique, sporty, and authentic timepiece showcases a stunning smoked grey dial with a wave-pattern background. The partially open center offers just enough transparency to admire the Baumatic movement's inner workings. The hours are marked by Roman numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock, and by baton rivet indexes for the remaining positions. They are tracked by two Dauphine hands and a slender seconds hand indicating hours, minutes, and seconds. Most of these time indicators are coated with a layer of SuperLuminova C1 for easy reading in low-light conditions. For added precision, a subtle minute track runs along the dial's perimeter, and a white date display sits at 3 o'clock. The brand's name and collection are signed across the dial.

The Movement

This watch is powered by an automatic movement BM13-1975A with a five-day power reserve. Anti-magnetic, it features 21 jewels and beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Renowned for its reliability, it drives all central functions with precision and accuracy. Its power reserve is 120 hours.

The Strap

This model features a strap in supple rubber in an army green hue. Its surface has been meticulously crafted to adorn your wrist with style and charm. Note that Baume & Mercier uses a quick-release system that makes it easy to swap the strap and change up your look whenever you like.

Water Resistance

This model offers water resistance of 10 atmospheres, equivalent to 100 meters. A truly water-resistant timepiece! This stylish model is ready to dive into aquatic adventures with you. From puddles to the pool, this watch handles splashes and swims without complaint. Shower, bath, and lap swimming? No problem. That said, our Ocarat watch experts advise that while this model is water resistant, it is not designed for professional or recreational diving, and should be kept away from high-pressure cleaning equipment. We also recommend against operating the crown or pushers while submerged.
