Sporty in spirit, the Riviera was first launched in 1973, and Baume & Mercier now presents a stunning new version - the 10714 - with a contemporary aesthetic beauty to mark its 50th anniversary. Inspired by the French Riviera lifestyle, it features a twelve-sided dodecagonal bezel fitted with four screws. Its timeless sport-chic case is crafted in stainless steel with a new 39 mm diameter. The interplay of a satin finish on flat surfaces and polished edges on the sides embodies an effortless elegance. The crown echoes the case shape, accented by a blue stripe at its center for added charm. Positioned at 3 o'clock, it handles the adjustment of hours, minutes, and date. To top it all off, a sapphire crystal covers the dial for excellent scratch protection. The sapphire crystal caseback offers a beautiful view of the movement and its finely decorated components. This screw-down caseback delivers 10 ATM water resistance.

The Dial

The dial of this model announces a new era. Its distinctive features break with the conventions of traditional watchmaking, appealing to a new generation seeking uniqueness and relaxed elegance. This dial stands out with its smoked blue sapphire crystal and a breathtaking sunray finish. Through the opening, the splendor of the Baumatic movement and its gears is revealed. The date wheel is also visible through a dark circle, framed by a window at 3 o'clock. Applied baton indices and two Roman numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock mark the hours. For added precision, a subtle minute track runs along the dial's edge. All of this is tracked by Dauphine hands and a slender seconds hand indicating hours, minutes, and seconds. To make this watch indispensable, the primary time indicators are coated with SuperLuminova C1 treatment for legibility even in low-light conditions. Finally, the brand name sits proudly beneath 12 o'clock.

The Movement

This watch is powered by the prestigious automatic movement BM13-1957A. It delivers a 5-day power reserve, a daily accuracy of -4 s/+6 s, and up to 1,500 Gauss of resistance against everyday magnetic fields. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and featuring 21 jewels, it drives the dial's indications with precision and responsiveness.

The Strap

This model features a blue strap crafted in alligator leather with elegant tone-on-tone stitching. It benefits from the clever Fast Strap quick-change system developed by Baume & Mercier, letting you swap straps in seconds. Comfortable and supple, it's a stunning addition to any wrist.

Water Resistance
