With legendary renown that transcends Japanese borders to captivate the entire world, the iconic Seiko brand has had one single ambition since its founding by young entrepreneur Kintaro Hattori: to become a pioneering reference in watchmaking. Today, it captivates collectors, watch enthusiasts, and style-conscious individuals alike with timepieces that are both elegant and high-performing. True to the brand's core values - perfection, quality, and innovation - every collection disrupts the watchmaking world with new technology and perfectly embodies the essence of Japanese excellence. Launching today alongside its new caliber, the brand introduces three exceptional watches, each as robust and refined as the next. From the Prospex collection, this stunning SPB383 watch will seize every opportunity to dress you with elegance and set you apart from the crowd. Reviving the design of the vintage Seiko dive watches made in 1986, it will be your reliable, high-performance, and stylish companion - equally at home at a gala evening or a high-seas adventure. It features a barrel-shaped case crafted in stainless steel with an ultra-resistant coating built to last. Designed for adventurous, sporty men, it measures 42 mm in diameter and 48.60 mm in length, with a thickness of 12.90 mm. The dial is shielded from daily shocks and wear by a sapphire crystal. The crystal features an anti-reflective coating on its inner surface for impeccable readability at all times. It is surrounded by a unidirectional ratcheted bezel for calculating dive time, marked with minute graduations and a LumiBrite triangular marker. Scratch-resistant, it features a black ceramic insert adding a sleek, sophisticated accent to the watch. A screw-down crown at 4 o'clock allows for quick time adjustment at any moment. Finally, this model is water-resistant to 20 ATM thanks to its screw-down caseback.
A round dial in black reinforces the sport-chic character of the watch with a modern, sophisticated edge. Its matte finish gives a deep, understated look on the wrist while ensuring crisp, clear timekeeping. At its center, two grey hands sweep alongside a thin paddle seconds hand to accurately indicate hours, minutes, and seconds. All three point to a minute track and twelve rectangular and round indices. Twelve o'clock takes the form of a double index for a more distinguished visual effect. The whole assembly features a LumiBrite coating for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions. A gold-tone arrow hand simultaneously indicates the time in a second time zone via the GMT scale on the outer ring, graduated with triangles on even hours and Arabic numerals on odd hours. A date window between 4 and 5 o'clock clearly displays the date. Finally, the brand's name and logo appear below 12 o'clock, with water resistance and movement type indicated at 6 o'clock.
This watch is powered by the brand's all-new caliber: the Seiko 6R54. This automatic movement delivers exceptional precision and reliable performance in all circumstances, offering a power reserve of 72 hours - approximately 3 days. Equipped with 24 jewels and a stop-second device, it ensures smooth, accurate hand movement and provides a reliable, precise display of hours, minutes, seconds, and a 24-hour GMT function.
Attached to either side of the case, this timepiece's bracelet is crafted in stainless steel. Featuring three rows of brushed links, its slim profile sits with precision and elegance on any wrist. It pairs beautifully with your entire wardrobe, bringing a modern, refined touch to both daytime and evening looks. It features a 20 mm lug width and a triple deployant clasp with secure locking, also equipped with a push-button release with extension for effortless handling.
With water resistance of 20 atmospheres, equivalent to 200 meters, this model can confidently be called a dive watch. Our watchmaking experts agree: while this timepiece is more than suited for showers, baths, lap swimming, freediving, and recreational scuba diving, it is not designed for extreme deep-sea diving where pressure could compromise its seal. For professional divers pushing depth limits, we recommend exploring models rated at 30 atmospheres or more. We also advise against operating the pushers or crown while submerged, to maintain a perfect seal.
