Lip has earned its place on wrists around the world through decades of precision, elegance, and unmistakable French style. Founded in 1867 by Emmanuel Lipmann, the brand combines unique French craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology and on-trend design to create timepieces that are as technically impressive as they are beautiful. Drawing from its rich archives, Lip now presents a modern, timeless reissue of its iconic Nautic 3 - the Ocean 671858. Equal parts sleek and sporty, this watch transitions seamlessly from city streets to ocean depths. Precision-engineered, robustly built, and proudly "Made in France", this dive watch is built to last a lifetime. It features a barrel-shaped case crafted from 316L stainless steel - satin-finished on top and polished on the sides for a refined two-tone effect. At 39 mm in diameter and 13.20 mm thick, it sits perfectly on men's wrists. A notched diving bezel with a black insert frames the case - unidirectional and marked in white with a minute scale and a luminescent marker at 12 o'clock, so you can track elapsed dive time at a glance. At 3 o'clock, a screw-down crown engraved with the brand name lets you set the hours, minutes, and date at any time. A sapphire crystal protects the dial from shocks and scratches - its double-domed profile and anti-reflective treatment ensure perfect legibility from every angle. A transparent window in the screw-down caseback reveals the mesmerizing movement within, while the screwed-down caseback guarantees water resistance to 200 meters.
This beautiful watch is anchored by a round dial that combines effortless legibility with refined elegance. The navy blue sunray-brushed background evokes the depth and majesty of the ocean. Two silver baton hands with blue tips track hours and minutes with precision, and their luminescent coating - also applied to the dot on the slender Lollipop seconds hand - ensures readability in low light. Around the edge, wide white baton markers form the minute track, divided every 5 minutes by white baton indexes. The markers at 6, 9, and 12 o'clock feature white Arabic numerals on a black background, with blue-tipped ends filled with a luminescent layer for easy reading in the dark. At 3 o'clock, a trapezoidal date window with a white background displays the date in black Arabic numerals. Lip signs the dial below 12 o'clock and marks 6 o'clock with the collection name "Nautic 3" and the proud mentions "Besançon" and "France" - a nod to its French heritage.
Beating at the heart of this timepiece is the caliber G100 - manufactured by the prestigious Swiss manufacture La Joux-Perret and assembled in France. This unidirectional automatic movement features 24 jewels, oscillates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), and is equipped with a stop-seconds mechanism. Renowned for its flawless reliability and exceptional performance, it delivers a generous 68-hour power reserve. Finished with Côtes de Genève decoration, this Franco-Swiss movement drives the hands with remarkable smoothness - giving you precise, dependable readings of hours, minutes, seconds, and date.
Fitted with quick-release spring bars, this Tropic strap is a breeze to swap out - ideal for daily wear. Made from rubber and finished with a textured "carbon-effect" design, it brings a timeless yet sporty edge to any look. Micro-perforations keep the wrist breathing comfortably while adding an athletic touch. The deep navy blue color pairs effortlessly with casual and dressed-up outfits alike. A 316L stainless steel pin buckle keeps it firmly in place all day long. The lug width is 20 mm.
This watch is water resistant to 20 atmospheres (200 meters) - built to go deep. Engineered for freediving, it handles everything from showers and laps in the pool to serious underwater adventures. You can even use a high-pressure washer with this piece on your wrist without worry. That said, for scuba diving with tanks, we recommend stepping up to a watch with a higher water resistance rating. As always, avoid operating the crown or any pushers while submerged, to protect the integrity of the movement.
