Lip is a cornerstone of French watchmaking, founded in 1867 by Emmanuel Lipmann. This iconic Maison continues to captivate with its dazzling timepieces rooted in both tradition and contemporary style - sophisticated, high-quality watches that stand out for their refined aesthetics, bold character, and innovative craftsmanship. Following the tremendous success of the Grande Nautic launched in 2023, the brand has partnered with Expédition 7ᵉ Continent, a non-profit organization dedicated to ocean preservation, to introduce its new Nautic 3 Expédition 7e Continent 670096 watch. Revisiting the design of one of Lip's most iconic models from the 1960s/70s and reinforcing the brand's environmental commitment, it is crafted as a limited edition of 999 numbered pieces. It's sure to delight anyone in search of a durable, timeless, and precise dive watch. Containing no plastic components, it delivers a refined sport-chic edge - ready for any adventure. Pair it with any outfit and wear it for any occasion, from a city outing to an underwater dive. Its barrel-shaped case measures 39 mm in diameter and 13.20 mm in thickness, ensuring a comfortable fit and all-day wearability. Designed to elegantly adorn men's wrists, it is crafted in 316L stainless steel with brushed and polished finishes for a premium look. The case houses a fluted crown at 3 o'clock, engraved with the brand name. It is screw-down and used for setting the time and date. A domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating sits over the dial, protecting it from everyday knocks, enhancing the watch's vintage feel, and ensuring optimal legibility. It is surrounded by a unidirectional dive bezel with a fluted design. The bezel's dark blue insert features a minute scale with a round luminescent marker at 12 o'clock, allowing you to track elapsed time. On the caseback, a screw-down case back ensures water resistance up to 20 bar. It features a transparent sapphire display window, letting you admire the movement and its beautiful decorations. Finally, this watch ships in a dedicated box made from recyclable cardboard and paper.
This marine-inspired limited edition is elevated by a round dial in ocean blue - a breath of fresh air that adds charm through a touch of refinement and subtlety. Easy to read, it features a sunray finish with brushed lines for an elevated look. At the center, two baton hands with blue tips and a slim "Lollipop" seconds hand sweep through the hours, minutes, and seconds. Silver-toned and coated with a luminescent treatment, they ensure excellent legibility in low-light conditions. They point to a minute track along the perimeter marked with broad white batons. The hours are indicated by eleven baton indices, also luminescent for enhanced readability. These white indices each feature a blue tip, creating a striking visual effect. The indices at 6, 9, and 12 o'clock are punctuated by white Arabic numerals on a black background. In addition to its analog display, the dial features a trapezoidal date window at 3 o'clock showing black Arabic numerals on a white background. Finally, the brand name is printed below 12 o'clock as a signature, while at 6 o'clock the collection name "Nautic 3" and the association name "Expédition 7e Continent" are displayed alongside "Besançon" and "France".
Housed within the case, the La Joux Perret G100 caliber powers this timepiece with remarkable fluidity, reliably driving its hands and date window in any situation. This automatic movement with unidirectional winding is Swiss-made and assembled in France. Highly regarded for its performance and efficiency, it delivers precise and reliable time, minute, second, and date display. Featuring 24 jewels, it is decorated with a Côtes de Genève finish, a diamond-chamfered bevel, and blued screws. This movement beats at a frequency of 4 Hz, or 28,800 vibrations/hour, and is equipped with a stop-seconds mechanism. The power reserve is 68 hours.
A refined bracelet in brushed 316L stainless steel wraps around both sides of the case, reinforcing the sport-chic appeal of this dive watch. Comfortable, durable, and elegant, it features three rows of links that hug the curves of your wrist for a pleasant, all-day fit. With a lug width of 20 mm, it adds a modern and timeless touch to any look - day or night - secured by a deployant clasp fitted with push-button releases and a safety lock for extra peace of mind.
With a water resistance of 20 atmospheres, equivalent to 200 meters, this model can confidently be called a "dive watch." Our watchmaking experts agree: while this timepiece is more than suited for showers, baths, lap swimming, freediving, and recreational scuba diving, it is by no means designed for extreme deep-sea diving, where pressure would compromise its water resistance. For our professional diver friends looking to push depth limits, we recommend models rated 30 atmospheres and above. We also recommend avoiding operating the pushers or crown while in the water to maintain a perfect seal.
