Orient is a Japanese company founded in 1950 and part of the Epson group. Its watches blend exceptional quality with bold, creative design - a seamless fusion of grace and power. Orient stands at the forefront of mechanical watchmaking in Japan. The Mako RA-AA0821S is a particularly elegant diver, a true crowd-pleaser among fine watch enthusiasts. Its round stainless steel case is predominantly brushed with polished accents - notably around the grooved, unidirectional rotating bezel, which features a two-tone aluminum insert split at the triangle marker and 15-minute mark. The case measures 41.8 mm wide, 13 mm thick, and 46.8 mm lug-to-lug - a size that wears beautifully on the wrist. The sapphire crystal provides maximum clarity and superb scratch resistance. The screw-down crown at 3 o'clock is protected and engraved with the brand's logo, handling all key function adjustments. The screw-down caseback ensures a water resistance of 20 ATM, with a polished exterior, brushed interior, and the brand's iconic dolphin emblem front and center.
Technically precise and visually stunning, this Mako features a refined dial that strikes a perfect balance between performance and elegance. Its ivory background carries a subtle brushed effect for added depth. Time reading is effortless thanks to baton indices and Arabic numerals at 6, 9, and 12. The diver hands in black with a whitish coat mark the hours and minutes against a modest minute track. The seconds hand features a signature orange arrow tip you're sure to love. The dual window at 3 o'clock displays the day in red and the date in black - a crisp contrast against the dial's overall palette. The brand name and logo sit just below 12 o'clock, alongside the movement type.
This watch is driven by an automatic mechanical movement made by Orient. Self-winding via the motion of your wrist, it features 22 jewels. The Japan-made F6922 caliber beats at 21,600 vph and handles the analog display of hours, minutes, seconds, date, and day.
This model rides on a brushed stainless steel bracelet. Its three-link construction measures 22 mm at the lug width, secured by a silver-tone push-button deployment clasp.
This model offers a water resistance of 20 atmospheres, or 200 meters. Built for deep-water adventures, it's an ideal companion for freediving. Pressure washers are no match for it either. Shower, bath, lap swimming, and freediving are all on the table. For scuba diving with tanks, however, we recommend a timepiece rated to a higher water resistance class. Avoid operating the crown or pushers while submerged to preserve the movement's integrity.
