Founded in 1853, Tissot has never stopped innovating and pushing boundaries. Its collections have carved out a distinctive identity through exceptional quality, noble materials, and a masterful sense of style. Today, Tissot pays tribute to its most iconic collection, Le Locle, with the launch of the T-Classic Powermatic 80 T006.407.11.033.03 - a model celebrating the collection's 20th anniversary. It embodies the brand's artisanal tradition, heritage, and watchmaking expertise. Named after Tissot's birthplace, this elegant watch features a round case crafted in 316L stainless steel. The case combines polished surfaces with a vertical brushed finish on the sides, adding a refined elegance that pairs beautifully with its silver tone. Weighing 122 g, it measures 39.30 mm in diameter and 9.80 mm in thickness - relatively compact dimensions that keep the watch light and versatile on any men's wrist size. The branded crown, positioned at 3 o'clock, features a well-executed knurled grip that makes adjusting the hands and date a breeze. A flat scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial from scratches and damage while providing a clear view of the face. On the caseback, a display back features a transparent window engraved with inscriptions and artistic decorations. It ensures a water resistance of 3 ATM and offers an admirable view of the movement.
This dial is a sophisticated expression of timeless elegance and classic refinement - a natural draw for those with a taste for vintage aesthetics. Enhanced by a double-circle finish, its silver background showcases a traditional texture with a clou de Paris guilloché pattern at the center. The hours are marked by Roman numerals applied to a brushed and sunray-finished chapter ring, delivering a striking aesthetic effect. The outer edge of the dial, also featuring the clou de Paris motif, is framed by a minute track with fine graduations. The most captivating detail of this design, however, is the blue color of the twelve indices, the two leaf-shaped hands, and the slender seconds hand - creating an elegant contrast. The finishing touch is the brand signature proudly displayed at 12 o'clock, alongside the collection name and movement reference beautifully rendered at 6 o'clock.
This model is powered by a Swiss-made automatic movement with 23 jewels. More specifically, it houses the proprietary Powermatic 80.111 caliber, fitted with a Nivachron hairspring that gives the watch resistance to magnetic fields. It beats at an oscillation frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of 80 hours.
This watch comes with two straps that can be swapped tool-free thanks to a quick-change system. Both have a lug width of 19 mm.
The first is a bracelet crafted in 316L stainless steel with a silver tone. It features 7 rows of links alternating between polished and brushed finishes, secured by a butterfly deployment clasp with push buttons.
The second strap is crafted from dark blue stitched bovine leather with an alligator-pattern finish, secured by a 316L stainless steel pin buckle for a comfortable fit.
This watch offers a water resistance of 3 atmospheres, or 30m. It's designed for style, not aquatic adventures - it shines at social events and receptions, but water is not its strong suit. It can handle rain, splashes, and the odd kitchen spill, but that's where it stops. We strongly advise against wearing it in the shower or bath, and even more so for swimming or diving.
