Victorinox is a Swiss family-owned company founded in 1884, renowned worldwide for its iconic Swiss Army knives. Since 1989, the brand has been crafting watches that embody quality, reliability, and functionality. The Journey 1884 is a bold, adventure-ready timepiece from Victorinox inspired by the Swiss mountains. Designed with hiking in mind, it features a sturdy yet elegant round case in brushed 316L stainless steel, measuring 43 mm in diameter and 12.20 mm thick. The unidirectional bezel has a knurled profile and a gold-tone finish, also crafted in 316L stainless steel with a yellow gold PVD treatment and a mirror-polished surface. It features a luminescent marker and a green insert with a minute track. At the bottom of the bezel, the inscription "1884" is engraved, while the right side displays the water resistance rating in both meters and feet. The crown, a knurled gold-tone piece at 3 o'clock, controls all dial functions, which are shielded from shocks by a flat sapphire crystal. The screw-down caseback ensures a water resistance of 20 ATM.
The dial of this watch is designed for effortless timekeeping. Featuring a green background with gold-tone markers, it has a double-circle finish combining a grained ring and a matte center. All markers are coated with a white luminescent coating for easy reading even in low-light conditions. A minute track runs along the outer edge, surrounding a mix of geometric indexes and Arabic numerals for the hours in a 12-hour format. Three skeleton baton hands indicate hours, minutes, and seconds, accompanied by a central 24-hour graduation for military time. A date window sits just above 6 o'clock, topped by the word "Antimagnetic", with the country of origin below. At 12 o'clock, the brand's signature takes the form of its iconic Swiss cross emblem.
This model is powered by a Swiss-made quartz movement - specifically the Ronda 715 caliber from the Normatech line, running on a 371 battery with a 5-year life. It drives an analog three-hand display with a date function.
The look is completed by a 316L stainless steel bracelet with beautifully brushed links. Sturdy and comfortable, it is easily interchangeable and fastens with a deployment clasp with safety lock.
With a water resistance of 200 meters - or 20 ATM for those who prefer the precise language of watchmaking - this watch is built for recreational diving. It handles the shower, the bath, the sea, and the pool with ease during shallow, non-professional dives (including freediving). For scuba diving with tanks, our Ocarat watch team has curated a selection of 30 ATM models, available through a quick search on our site. One last reminder: never operate the pushers or crown while underwater!
