The Watch
This timepiece brings a piece of Anglo-Saxon aviation history back to life. Every collection crafted by British brand Avi-8 pays tribute to a legendary aircraft. The collection this model belongs to salutes the Royal Air Force's very first single-engine fighter - a plane that made history during the Battle of Britain in World War II. Its unmistakably British DNA comes through in this chronograph with its military color palette. The gunmetal PVD-treated stainless steel case measures 42mm in diameter, 12mm thick, and weighs 80g - a perfect fit for a men's wrist. A crown sits on the right side of the case, flanked by two pushers linked to the chronograph. A mineral crystal protects the case, which is framed by a subtle bezel. The caseback is screw-down.
The Dial
This vintage-inspired Hurricane features a round gunmetal dial. Designed to evoke a classic cockpit dashboard, it draws on the codes of aviation - including its iconic instruments such as the chronograph and tachymeter. The raised, angled bezel carries a tachymeter scale. Inside, a white minute track runs alongside white Arabic numerals in a clean, legible typeface reminiscent of aircraft instrumentation. A concentrically grooved sub-dial at 6 o'clock displays small seconds. A second sub-dial at 9 o'clock, echoing the Royal Air Force roundel found on the iconic Hurricane, tracks 60 minutes. A third counter at 12 o'clock shows the 1/10th-second function and shares the same finish as the first. A square date window at 3 o'clock sits alongside the brand name and logo. The entire surface is swept by two white sword-shaped hands with black cores marking the hours and minutes, plus a slim white chronograph seconds hand.
The Movement
At the heart of this timepiece beats a Japanese-made Miyota quartz movement. Reliable and well-regarded, it delivers hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and full chronograph functions - including 60-minute and 1/10th-second counters.
The Strap
To complement this Hurricane, the British brand chose a dark green leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching. The pin buckle is crafted in gunmetal PVD-treated steel, and the lug width measures 22mm.
Water Resistance
With 50-meter water resistance - 5 ATM in watchmaking terms - this timepiece can handle splashes and the occasional shower, but prolonged water exposure is best avoided. To preserve the movement's accuracy and longevity, our watch specialists strongly recommend keeping it away from baths, pools, and the sea. In short: no swimming, no diving, and no extended contact with water.
