The Watch

AVI-8 is a watch brand founded in 2013, drawing inspiration from the world of military aviation. Its designs are born from a collaboration between watchmakers and aeronautical engineers. The AV-4100-02 watch is part of the Hawker Hunter collection, named after a British military aircraft celebrated for its supersonic speed and performance. It's a men's timepiece with generous proportions that showcase its multiple displays and complications. The case is crafted from stainless steel in a distinctive square shape with angled corners secured by screws, measuring 43 mm in diameter and housing a circular graduated bezel. Its surface is finished in black on the upper half and blue on the lower half. The case is topped with mineral crystal and features a knurled crown at 3 o'clock along with two pushers - red at 2 o'clock and black at 4 o'clock. The case back displays the watch's emblem, is screw-down, and ensures 5 ATM water resistance.

The Dial

Inspired by wartime aviation, the Hawker Hunter features a technical yet highly legible dial built in multiple layers that evoke the aircraft's engine. It includes a slender seconds hand and 3 skeleton hands coated in luminous pigment, as are the 12 baton indexes around the face. A minute track is marked with fine white graduations on a blue ring, encircling a white inner circle - all set against the blue base of the dial with a granular finish reminiscent of an airfield runway. This base also displays the Arabic numerals of the second time zone. Another standout detail: the 3 sub-dials sit on a screwed black plate, which also houses the date window between 4 and 5 o'clock. These sub-dials track 24 hours at 3 o'clock, 60 minutes at 6 o'clock, and 60 seconds at 9 o'clock. Just below 12 o'clock, a red triangle is followed by the brand name, watch type, and collection logo.

The Movement

The Strap

A blue leather strap completes the sporty, commanding look of this watch. It fastens with a pin buckle and features stitching in orange and yellow that accentuates the exceptional aviator style.

Water Resistance

With water resistance of 5 atmospheres, equivalent to 50 meters, this watch offers an entry-level seal of protection. While not designed for bathing, lap swimming, or scuba diving, you can comfortably wear it in the shower without worry.
